Entrance Preview

I have taken SNAP exam in 2008. I have scored 52 marks in SNAP then in second round I have completed Group discussion, Personal Interview and 3 field assignment. Thn also couldn't get through in first list but got selected in second list. As SIMC is the Best PG institute for complete media course. And infrastructure & Facilty provided by SIMC & Symbiosis is best in the country. Symbiosis lavale campus is a Eco friendly campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

I have chosen journalism for specialization. So, First semister was of advertising, Public Relations, Audio Visual & journalism. Second Semister I studied Audio Visual and journalism. And journalism in third & fourth. In complete course more focus was on practical assignments & outdoor projects. 7 projects were compulsory. In projects I have made 4 documentaries, written few articles for college supplement and designed a broucher. Over all very good learning in 2 years.

Internships Opportunities

There were 3 college internships and one mega event footprints need to be organized by students. 1st internship was with an NGO and second internship of 6 week I did with TV today group and 3rd internship was with Network 18 Group. 4 thousand stipend was paid in NGO internship but no stipend for industry internship.

In 2011 all 4 specialization had very good placements. Companies like HP, Edelman, Zee, Vedanta, Network 18, TV TOday group, Indian express and many more came to campus and almost 95% students got placed with nice packages.

Fee Structure And Facilities

For my course fee structure was College fees - 2 lac per year.Hostel fees - 60 thousand per year. Mess fees- 30 thousand per year.1 lac for Laptop & DSLR camera.

Fees and Financial Aid

College availed loan but I have taken 2 lac loan from state bank of India at my place Sumerpur. As SIMC is under Private university they have tie up with Bank of India, in college campus there is a Bank of India counter is available. For new students college helps to avail loans but as per my knowledge there was no scholarships thn till 2011 .

Hostel Facilities

3

There were separate hostels for girls & boys. They were 2 sitter & 3 sitter. Fees for 2 sitter hostel was 60 thousand and for 3 sitter was 50 thousand. And mess was also near to hostel, all 3 meals were served in mess and changes for mess was 30 thousand per year for all meals. Food served was up to the mark.

Alumni/Alumna

College has very good allumini cell headed by professor Deepali suryvashi. SIMC keep organizing alumni meet in Delhi & Mumbai. And many past students being called for guest lectures also at SIMC. And college cell is well connected with mails & facebook to inform all types of information.

Campus placement training is available too. You're eligible for it after the third semester. if you have no backlog It is great. There are many companies that visit because it is the home university. Average package is 5LPA and it goes upto 16 LPA. The percentage of students getting placed is 60-70. My plans after the degree is to apply for my NET exam and after that I'll do my Ph.D in English
