SIPT - A premier paramedical educational institute

Shivalik Institute of Para-Medical Technology is situated in Chandigarh and very few colleges in this state provide with such great exposure & facilities that are available in my college. The training & variety of courses available in this college can not be compared to a single Para-Medical college present in Chandigarh. I can say that I am proud of being a student of SIPT. This college gave me pleasant experiences, good memories, intellectual mentors and life long friendships. And most importantly a bright future with a job I love. One positive aspect of the college is that it is situated near beautiful Shivalik Hills on the Chandigarh-Shila Kalka Highway. I created many memories there and enjoyed my college life to the fullest with my friends.

You have to study like hell here, that's true. But trust me you will fall in love with studies here. Everything here is practical. Along with theories, you learn almost every concept in practicality. In the campus there are laboratories, various departments such as Dept. of Dept. of Radiology, Dept. of Ophthalmology, Dept. of Biotechnology and various other departments that provide students with more realistic and practical approach. Also, I along with my batch mates seized many opportunities to go to various educational tours in many parts of India. I also got the opportunity to volunteer the medical camps that were being organized by college from time to time. During the medical camps, students were asked to take blood test, perform eye test, dental check-up & other treatments. This kind of exposure helped me grow, learn & explore practically the concept that I was being taught in the classrooms.

In Shivalik Institute of Para-Medical Technology students are provided with placement all free of cost, unlike other colleges where students have to pay some money to get placed in top-notch companies. Several companies & hospitals from India as well as from abroad take keen interest in recruiting pass-outs of this college for their companies. Some of my batch-mates were selected in well recognized companies such as Ranbaxy, Vasan Eyecare, Titan Eye, Dr. Lal Pathlabs, etc. I got placed in Apollo Hospital with initial package 6.5 LPA. And almost 85% students of my batch got placed in recognized companies. 3 students got placed outside India in NGOs that work for the welfare of the society.

Pursuing any course from this college is way affordable. Every middle class family can pay the fees of this college. It is not allowed to disclose fee structure of courses right away hence I am bound not to share fees amount by me. But I can assure that keeping in view the facilities & hostilities provided in my college, fee is lower than to be expected.

Being a studious student, I was not very much interested in extracurricular activities, but I kept an eye on my friend activities. My friends participated in inter-college & intra - college tournaments and were rewarded with prizes as well. Our teachers always put pressure on all students to take part in extracurricular activities because they enjoyed that. But I have to agree that in my college playing sports is a fun part. Also we made several educational tours to places I never visited before and I volunteered many camps. While participating in such activities I learned a lot and met many people.

Hostel accommodation is provided separately for girls & boys at SIPT, Chandigarh. But you can take advantage of this facility on First Come First Served basis. I paid Rs. 2000 per month as Hostel Fees, which is very less in my opinion especially when hostels provide you with home like environment & comfort.

Admission process of this college is quite simple. When I applied into this college, I was provided with an admission representative who really helped me selflessly. He gave me all the details that were essential to be known by me. I was given a brief summary about each & every course that were being provided in the college at that point of time. The course structure keeps updating here as per latest trends and requirements in the market. To get admission there are some documents that are supposed to be submitted by the student. Although now I don't remember properly because I took admission 2 years ago, but as much I can recall I was definitely asked to submit High School & Senior Secondary School passing certificates. Some additional documents are also required and every student possess these documents for sure. So after getting done with the paper work, I was required to pay application fees, which is non-refundable. I made the payment via Demand Draft in which the kind admission representative helped me of course. And that is it. Yeah, its that easy to get admission here. Not so many formalities are required.

The teachers in my college are worthy of praise, except one or two, who are all study, no masti kinds. But to talk about the faculty in general, they all are highly intellectual and intelligent. They all come from fields of vast experience. All teachers are helpful and provide students with all aid they have to offer. Faculty of this college believe in practical approach. So they keep taking trips with students to laboratories and different departments which sometimes gets hectic for students. But we enjoyed it all.
