What Students Say
Likes
- The infrastructure here in Chandigarh University is really great. If it is based on area, view, basic amenities and provided facilities. You can get here everything that you need(food, gym, parlour, stadium).
- The faculty's here in cu are well qualified, and relating to teaching methods students are taught here via ppt's , books as well as short notes made by the teacher itself. The mentorship qualities are really good , they help students in every aspect.
- Placement drive do happen in CU and for career advancement special classes are also provided under dcpd which help students to sharpen their skills and develop them even more.
Dislikes
- The thing that I dislike here being a hosteler is the availability of air conditioners. Air conditioners are not available in all hostels of CU.
- Girls residing in hostels doesn't get outings or permission to go out of the university campus on week days.
- The have a really hectic schedule for academics.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is largely relevant and well structured , covering both theoretical and practical aspects. It balances core subjects and specialization for elective subjects. The curriculum prepares me for real world application by enhancing my interdisciplinary learning, modern technologies aligned with my career goals. The areas that can be improved in the course curriculum and teaching methods are more guest faculties can be invited, and they can also take the students for ISR activities, they can also focus more on clinical and practical works. The frequency of exam is manageable , though sometimes assignments, files ,ppts create unnecessary pressure. The difficulty level of exams is fair, testing both theoretical understanding and practical application.
Placement Experience
There are placements drives being held in the campus but not for the physiotherapy field. But still they do help students to focus on building employability skills through compulsory internships , project works and hospital or clinical tie ups. Many students build strong resumes via internships, research projects, and online certification (Coursera, linkedin),etc. After completing the course I am planning for persuing masters in this field.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fees for bpt is 67000 Rs and the total sum will be 70000. This is course fee. Tuition fees for bpt in CU is 67000Rs Registration fee is 10000Rs. There are no other compulsory chargers. But you have to pay a sum amount of 2500-3000 for examination. If you avail a scholarship you can get almost 50% deduction in the fees basis on it and some students get almost 100% basis on a cucet exam. Sc and St categories get free education as their education fee is provided by the government itself. Categories wise SC and ST categories doesn't have to pay anything while the other categories have to pay full amount of 70000. If a student avails a scholarship he/she can get deduction in the fees accordingly.
Campus Life
Campus life at my very college is a really great mix of academics, social activities and personal growth. Apart from the classroom learning, the feativals, infrastructure and clubs have played a major role in shaping my overall experience. The annual and technical fests are being held in the university to give students a break from the classroom and all of the hectic schedule. Various festivals are also celebrated here like holi, diwali, onam, guruparv, etc. not only indian festivals but international festival are also celebrated to give a level of comfort to the international students. Personally being involved in CU has given me a great exposure to life and people.
Hostel Facilities
The rooms that are being provided in the girls hostel are 4 seater with the availability of light 24/7, free access to wifi and gym. 2 Coolers are provided in each rooms to keep the room cool and to fill those coolers easy access to water in the balcony is also provided. The meal provided in the hostel is 3 times a day that is morning (breakfast), afternoon (lunch) and evening (dinner) with a time slot of breakfast 7:30am to 9:00am during week days and on weekends it is 7:30 to 9:30am. For lunch it is 12:00pm to 2:00pm daily. For dinner it is 7:30 pm to 9:00pm. The timming can vary sometimes during any fest or events. The query related to menu is you get different food items each day, nothing gets repeated. Registration process for hostel is first come first get basis because even after having a n number of hostels the seats get full fast and it becomes difficult to get a seat later. The yearly fees of hostel of 120000 that can vary sometimes according to new policies.
Admission
When I was finalizing my decision, I compared my choosen college with the others on various parameters such as faculty, infrastructure, ratings, reviews, placements and extra curricular activities and co curricular activities and most importantly affordability that is fee structure. I haven't applied to any other colleges other than CU itself. The admission process of my college is eligibility that is you have to pass class 12th for my course bpt. If you opt for masters then you have to present a degree of bachelors for admission. The exam accepted for admission here in cu in cuchd, cuet, etc. if you clear any of these exams with good grades then you can get easy admission here in Chandigarh University. The cut off marks depends on the university itself. But try to score good to get admission here. The overall admission process for me was smooth from starting to the end. The documentation and councelling were done efficiently and I received my admission confirmation within few days.
Faculty
The faculty's here in Chandigarh University are really great in teaching as well as understanding student behaviour and needs. If a student faces a problem related to any subject or problem related to hostel or in campus activity they really listen to the student and help them in solving the problem as soon as possible. The faculty I like the most is Ayushi ma'am. She is a really great teacher as well as a great mentor. She listens to the student, tries to solve every problem, and is cooperative and intelligent as well. She talks in a humble way making the student anxiety free and calm. The best faculties are Ayushi ma'am and Navjot Trivedi sir. Some faculties are biased as well. They do favourism for a particular student of it is related to academics or co curricular or extra curricular activities. They never ask another to step forward other than their favourite ones. The faculty's I don't like are akrishti ma'am, utkarshita ma'am, abizar sir. During a whole 1 semester the total number of theoretical exams to be conducted are 3, 2 of them are mid semester test also called as MSTs and then the finals. Other than these practical MSTs are also held between the mid of the semester and at the end final practical examination are taken. In MST unit wise syllabus is need to be studied while in finals you have to study the whole syllabus. The number of students that fail to clear exams are really less in my class. The paper pattern is divided according to the student as it becomes easy to score marks like 2 marks questions then 5 marks and at last 10 marks.
Night Life
If I talk about the night lift of CU then you will fall in love with it. You will see greenary, lights, people, birds, dogs everything. Gym , cafeterias and library everything is available in the college campus. If I consider the criteria of hostel then each and every hostel in cu have a gym, cafeteria, parlour and reading rooms The reading rooms have a free access to wifi that's too 24/7 while the gym is open at 2 timing of morning and evening with a shift of 2-3 hrs. At morning and 4-5 hrs. At evening. The parlour have a access of 9:00am to 8:00pm that's too 24/7. Other than the hostels there are various cafeterias in and around campus. Some of the most famous are PFC(pentagram food court) and FR(food republic). The most famous place to hangout in CU is fountain park. Filled with greenary, people singing and enjoying, with a plenty of food items available to eat and drink . The in timings for campus is 7:00am to 6:00pm and for hostels it is till 8:00pm in summer and 7:00pm in winter
