Remarks

The over all college experience was a really fun one. Got to learn a lot of things as I was staying away from my family and was entirely dependent on my own self. The college management is pretty good and so is the college. They strive to make their stude

Entrance Preview

I gave NMAT for NMIMS. I went for B.Sc in Economics as I was always interested in studying Economics.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The faculty is extremely knowledgeable, well read, helpful and cooperative. The course structure, although very exhaustive, helped us get an idea about several things that we would have otherwise not really known about. In the final year, we are supposed to choose between 3 electives which are those of Economics, Marketing or Finance. And with each of these electives come two subjects. Rest of the 3 subjects are common for all, regardless of the elective chosen.

Internships Opportunities

Every summer we had to intern in one company. I interned with Essar in the first year and with a hospitality firm in the second year. Most of these internships are without a stipend. Companies do not come to the campus for internships. Instead the college helps us with an official letter for each student to help us secure internships.

Placement Experience

3.5

Several Marketing and Finance companies came to campus. Some of the most renowed companies would be TCS, Barclays, Deloitte, Nomura, Directi, Tresvista etc. We also noticed a lot of start ups interested in placing the students. The maximum salary offered was 9 lakhs P.A. by Nomura.

College Events

3.5

We had an annual economic fest named Ka-Ching which observed wide spread participation from students from notable mumbai colleges and colleges in other cities as well such as Delhi, Pune, Calcutta etc. We also have an annual debate festival named shashtrarth. We keep having other small sports events for those interested in football, cricket, chess etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is not too expensive but not that cheap either. It is as follows - 1st year - Rs. 1,10,0002nd year - Rs 1,07,0003rd year - Rs 1,03,000.

Fees and Financial Aid

None that I am aware of currently as I did not avail any scholarship or loan facility offered by my college. Also I havent heard about any such schemes or offers having been availed by any of my friends either so Im not too sure if they have such an offer going on currently. But they might and Im not aware of such a thing so that will have to be researched about by who ever is interested in the same as I dont have much knowledge on the topic, unfortunately.

Campus Life

4.5

The gender ratio is almost equal. We did not really have any hostel parties but all the hostel students did go out a lot. We had several workshops, seminars etc to ensure a holistic learning experience. Everyone was really really broad minded so there was no issue really regarding race, gender, ethnicity, economic status etc

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel rooms are sharing i.e. 2 girls in one room. The rent for the hostel for 10 months was 1,50,000 Rs. Mess good was not really up to the mark. The hostel wasn't that great either. And also, there was no air conditioning so it got too hot in the su

Alumni/Alumna

Most of the college passouts are currently working in Bombay in various firms. Few others are pursuing their masters degree in India and abroad, most notably in universities such as Oxford, London School of Economics, University College of London, New York University etc.

Exam Structure

There is continuous evaluation in the form of tests and presentations which counted as the internal component. The semester exams are held continuously for a week. It is pretty hectic.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Microbiology is mainly lab based work but it also teaches you other worldly things , the reason behind me choosing Bsc microbiology to do from ruia is because , once i had a talk to an alumni of ruia in which she mentioned that microbiology from ruia is basucally equal of engineering from an IIT. In microbiology particularly i would say the difficulty level is a bit high but only if you don't pay attention to daily lecs and practicals
