Entrance Preview
The college's own entrance exam for admission to the English Honours course. I scored 96 in English .I chose the college because it was reputed in Kolkata, and the faculty was good.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum followed that of the University of Calcutta. It was interesting. My electives were History and Sociology. Students could also choose from Political Science, Economics, Philosophy and Alternative English.
Internships Opportunities
I would not be able to answer this question, as I was not involved in any internships as such. This was not an engineering college. Also, I was an Arts student.
Placement Experience
Again, I am uninformed on the same. The college does have an active placement cell, but I do not have knowledge or information regarding the companies or their packages.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
Again, I do not have any idea about the procedure in this regard. I have neither availed scholarship nor loan. As for the loan availability, probably not required given that the fee structure is feasible enough.
Campus Life
The campus life was good. This is an all-girls college. The events and fests celebrated were very refreshing, and participation by all is encouraged. Campus politics were limited to student elections once a year, and these were extremely peaceful. Life at LBC was calm, and peaceful, with the focus slightly more towards academics.
Alumni/Alumna
The college seniors were very friendly, and chilled out. It was a very warm and amiable bond we shared. After leaving college, I have had no contact with the alumni.
Exam Structure
Exams were not too frequent, nor too hectic. They were spaced out. We did have mid-terms, and the annual university exams, which took place in centres outside the college campus.
Faculty
The faculty was good, and experienced. We were taught well, and they were quite informed about what they were teaching. But this was quite a few years back, I cannot comment about the new faculty, the teachers have changed, from what I hear.
