Entrance Preview

I had to go through Jammu University BCA enterance exam to qualify.My rank was 125. I wasn't sure if i wanted to do BCA but i got through easily without any preparation. I just wanted to get graduation degree.

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum was little out dated given the fact that we had C language in our course which was already obsolete by then. But overall, i loved the experience. Being a girls' college, i didnt expect my 3 years to be this good. I bunked classes first time in 3rd year of my college. I was scared but had fun for the first time. But i only bunked english classes. I used to go to computer classes religiously.

Internships Opportunities

Unfortunately we didnt have any internship and we didn't get any offer as the course was just 2 years old with University. But i heard that comapnies like infosys and wipro came around the next year after we completed the course.

Placement Experience

Now its good but sadly no companies came around when we were there.I have heard that the placement opportunities are brilliant now a days and course has been revised too. People are placed in high end companies like cognizant and wipro etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was very easy on pockets as it was a govt college.Can you imagine 10000/year. OMG who does that. It was a relief. I didnt want my parents to spend hefty amount on my education.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

University did offer scholarships to sports quota and SC\ST\OBC quota. I didnt avail any.

the main aspect that that influenced me to choose this course was my programming skills which I started in my 10th class The areas for improvement in the course is to add more project work. the exam timing sometimes can be a bit off but the difficulty levels are average most of the time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I interested in computers since when I am in the 8th class. I scored high marks in school in computer subjects. then I realized I choose this course in college. and I perform well in this course. because if anyone goes to the computer field and is interested in computers they should take this course. the faculty is 35:1 in my class. the good teachers teach every subject very well I understand properly and the good staff of the college helps every student with their dought sessions and practice more questions. good teachers and yeah there is a total of 14 teachers in my management and 13 for other management. but teachers are well polite and disciplined. the exams are held after 6 months there is a 3-year course with 6 semesters so every year there is 2 semester so the exam is held after 6 months and the second exam is held after six months. the exam must be not difficult but moderate-level questions.

Remarks:

GGMSC (affiliated to Cluster University, Jammu) is One of the most reputed collage for science related studies in J&K. They have highly qualified staff and great Infrastructure. University is located inside collage campus so working of institution is very smooth. Cluster University releases online application for admission every year. You can choose combinations of subject and collage and sort them according to your preference. Admission will be made as per merit.
