A college for all

Campus life was good when it comes to education, debates, symposiums etc. However if you talk about diversity, during my tenure the ratio was roughly 90:10 which was really less. There were countable girls in our college that led to so many fights because not every lion can get his mate, so to say . MaM college has been notorious for thesebkind of incidents. Mostly students from Arts sections weren't much into education and more into becoming heroes for the miinimal diversity. The administration didn't do anything to change this image of he college. In fact even the political unions of students were into such actions of supporting goons n all. Sometimes I have seen outsiders coming in and beating up the students over simple incidents.

I took the general entrance for BCA conducted by Jammu University. I don't particularly remember hoq much I scored but I remember that's how how I got this college and I was part of the first batch of BCA in this college. Those were some good times.

The only thing I found astray is the syllabus however, its not the college's fault because the syllabus is set by the university ans trust me back then also it was vintage for that time. I am sure right now also student are being taught c++ n all vintage languages whereas current languages are not covered in university's syllabi.

No not that I remember. I never got any information of this kind during my tenure there. Internship are provided by the university i don't know about the college whether they provide the direct internship without university's intervention.

Well I would say good not excellent. Though I myself got placed from there however their own knowledge about thw hiring companies was less at that time not sure about now. We were hired for tech support for a hardware dept in IBM but we were never told about it was going to be a calling profile neither did the college administration knew about this or maybe they did but didn't tell us.

Well for this particular genre our college stood out. We celebrated mostly every event from fresher's to fairwell and symposium and debates were common in our college which I loved to be a part of. I still remember I never missed a single event that was held in our college.

University of Jammu is very good when it comes to fee structure. Barring some private colleges which obviously had large amounts to bag, our college had a nominal fee structure. Nothing that a middle class or a lower middle class couldn't afford. Moreover JU's scholarship programs also helped in this field.

Again the scholarship programs held by the university were good. The colleges donot have autonomously do anything without letting the university know. How ever still students didn't bear any difficultly in paying the fees.

I never stayed in the hostel howvever what i have heard from the studenta living there, it's not good at all. Students fell in the pits of bad habits like smoking n drinking and much more. Quarrels n fights were common in the hostel. However this is what i have heard not observed or experienced.

There hasn't been any alumni meet that i know of or maybe they didnt invite me :D when and if it will happen then i will let you know how it was. Good or bad it should have happened by now. Its been 4 years.

Exams are always the same for students. It hardly matters how the environment is. If we talk about discipline then it was good not excellent. There were some students who were there just to create ruckus but nothing happened to them. There were times when we were simply taken out from exams rooms in the name of college strikes n all and nobody took any action on it ever.

Well we simply followed the university's process of admission, allotment of college and then form fillings in the college. So once you get the college allotted you have to go to the college's admin building for all the paper work. You get the admission form along with library form. You have to submit your form alongwith your recent photos. Everything back then was on papers nothing digital.

Well no details required. Faculty was perfectly educated and experienced. Be it any aspect or field every professor was a Masters or a PhD and that too with good knowledge of their subject. I remember math was part of our subjects and our professor is still rocking. He banged a gold medal in math.
