NIT JSR - Review

The college is now being renovated and half of the work is done. So in case of infrastructure, it is developing with a good pace and in coming 3-4 years it will have a remarkable infrastructure. Also, the labs and workshops need to be maintained.

The course curriculum is fine over here except for the primitive way of teaching. The college is making its progress in the field of research with a gradual pace. The GPA scored in the semester is simply multiplied by 10 in order to find out its value in percentage.

NIT Jamshedpur is known for its impressive placement scenario. The Training and Placement cell of NIT Jamshedpur takes a good care of its students and the placement process takes place thouroughout the final year. Also, it takes place with a well defined set of rules and procedures which prevents any kind of biasing or unfairness among the students.

OJASS - The technical fest CULFEST - The cultural fest URJA - The sports fest The Alumni Meet - Alumni relations Branch fests like - TECHNICA, COGNITIO, etc And apart from these other smaller events are conducted on day to day basis which involve seminars and workshops.

It's pretty feasible. For my batch, the academic fees is 83000 for General and OBC students, 20500 for SC/ST and PwD students. Apart from the academic fees, 16500 is taken as the hostel fees. The payment of the fees is done thourough SBI i-collect or thourough DD mode.

A number of scholarships are provided - Mali Mastan scholarship, S.C.Bose scholarship, and many more scholarship provided by NSP and state governments. The college also reimburses 2/3rd of the academic fee for students who have family income less than 5 lacs.

The co curriculum in the college is always at peak. It has a number of clubs and teams which are involved in a number of fields. It also has a 4 major fests which comprise of cultural, technical, sports and alumni relations. Also, there are several branch fests which focus on branch oriented programs.

The hostel and mess facility provided by the college is amazing. The students are provided with single room. Also there is a separate hostel for every batch. The hostels are also new and no less than apartments. The food quality is also ensured and a number of variety of food is provided to the students 4 times a day.

The alumni here are very helpful. There is a team in the college which deals with the relation between the alumni and the college. A reunion event is organised every yaer for particular batches in which the alumni come amd relive their reminiscence.

The entrance in this college is done on the basis of the rank scored by students in JEE Mains examination ehich is conducted all over the country. Further, depending upon the rank, the branch of the student is determined.

The senior faculties over here are very good. Although new faculties have now been associated with the college due to which it becomes a bit difficult for the students to develope their interest in the subject. Although with good student-teacher interaction, it is not a matter of great concern. The faculties here are very supportive.
