My College - DIATM

Every thing has it's own whites and blacks. Same goes for my college. The faculty panel, academics and placement scenerio is quite good. But the social life and accommodation and fooding needs to be improved.

Our college is affiliated to MAKAUT( technical University of West Bengal). The syllabus and curriculum is decided in accordance with the students as well as the changes in trend and requirement of companies hiring the students. Classes, labs and exams are conducted in an easy way and calm environment, so that students don't panic themselves.

Companies like TCS, COGNIZANT, WIPRO and INFOSYS are mass recruiters of our college students. Apart from it, students opt fir higher educational exams like GATE and CAT. Average salary of students, is around 4 lpa, ranging from 2 lpa to 6 lpa, depending on the quality of students.

Our college organizes a cultural fest (an eve of 3-4 days). Apart from that we have 2 technical, 1 entrepreneur, 1 cultural and a martial art club in college, that organizes different events from time to time. There are inter-college, inter-district and inter- state competitions held, finely distributed thouroughout the year.

Fee structure is quite normal. The overall fees paid during the tenure of 4 years is around 4 lacs. It includes academic fees, library fees, medical costs and laboratory fees. The fees paid is average and the facilities provided are in good accordance with it.

There is a scheme for local students to be availed. Apart from that, there are scholarships for bright students as well as students from poor financial background. There are many students availing these facilities.

The gender ratio is very low, but over all students number is quite high. Students from all across the country study here together and live in peace and harmony. There are 2 girls hostel and 3 boys hostel over all here.

Hostel rooms are okayish for accommodation with 2/3/4 sharing, as you wish to opt. Fooding is very basic with four times meal a day. The number of sharing you want decides the annual hostel fees to be paid.

The alumni network of my college is quite strong. We get time to time advice and aids from our pass out seniors. And in return we do the same for our Juniors. We get aid ranging from academics to placement to books and stuffs. There are regular alumni meet up to ensure a good bonding between Juniors and seniors.

I got admitted thourough the West Bengal Joint exam conducted annually. I chose CSE department, as I am am ICSE student and coding and programing were taught to us from very beginning. This subject fascinated me and so I decided to pursue it and build my career in it. I got a fair good rank in WBJEE exams and got this college in the first merit list of counselling.

Faculty panel of my college is very supportive. Most of the professors are doctorate in their particular subject. They focus on over all development of a student and believe in individual growth. The teachers help students in every possible way and try to bring out the best in them.
