Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course structure is not that bad, they don't focus on research that much but I'm fine with they way they teach. And classes and labs session aren't hectic at all. Night life here at the English and Foreign Languages University is also not that bad. People like to roam around and chit chat and all. Classes are conducted Monday to Friday, so that students don't feel that pressure and can chill out well. Their PG Certificate and Diploma in the teaching of English are laudable. Our Lecturers in English have attended these courses and have come back with a renewed enthusiasm to put into practice all that they have learnt. The teaching style, language labs and digital labs at EFLU are commendable.

Placement Experience

4

EFLU is not a professional college or institute like engineering colleges or MBA colleges. It basically offers courses and awards degrees. However, MNCs do approach it for candidates with proficiency in foreign languages ie BAs in Arabic / French / German / Spanish / Korean / Chinese etc. Some agencies also ask for PGs and Research students in English to be groomed as Corporate Trainers. BEd graduates also are in hot pursuit. Since governments in different states recruit thourough their Selection Process, students pefer govt jobs. They pay more. There is a Placement Cell at EFLU. But the university like private institutes does not take the onus of finding a job for every outgoing student. It is. a liaison platform.

College Events

2.5

There is one yearly Event in EFLU. But it's not celebrated in a big way. Apart from sports day, cricket leagues, holi diwali and garba nights in navratre and welcome and farewell parties there there used to be weekend movie screenings, Japanese cultrural day where we used to wear kimono with the help of experts from Japan foundation and Japanese teachers, origami making of Japanese style greeen tea much more. Unfortunately, EFLU has a considerably small campus. So if you're used to the near endless spaces of JNU or Hyderabad University, you might find it disappointing. Since I did not study any foreign languages myself, I cannot give a proper appraisal of them. However, I did have friends from foreign language departments, and they seemed very happy and content with their courses.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Broadly, for a General candidate it would be around 3, 000 thousands at the time of admission ie Semester I. It will be slightly less in the subsequent semesters. Again, there are fee concessions for the economically weaker sections and also stipend for hostel residents. FINALLY, it will be very inexpensive compared to a rural private school.

Campus Life

4

It is simply great we have theater group music club cricket football and badmonton club dance club and yes a poets society as well. So you find EFLU a great Place for extracurricular activities as it is a language specified univesity so don't had any lab but yes there is a language lab where we work on phonetics and pronounciation.

Admission

Aspirants are required to crack entrance exam in order to get admission here. I applied for entrance exam and then got selected for counseling in the first provisional admission list and now I'm here on EFLU's campus, persuing Spanish bachelor degree programme.

Faculty

3.5

They're very well experienced and amiable. Some of them are from other countries as well. Most of them are post graduates with around 10 years of experience at the least. Always ready to help the students. And they join in the co curricular activities as well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course had 3 different core subjects with 2 languages. The syllable for languages was pretty basic and can be done without any help aswell. Well, the core subjects if provided with proper books, it can be done by oneself aswell. As for the teaching methods, excluding litreature and history i was not happy with others.

Hi, Ankit. Thanks for the review, it was very helpful. I'd be grateful if I could ask you some questions about the enrollment process since I'm pursuing the same course in the same college as you. I'm dropping my email address here, it would be a big help if you were able to contact me. I would've preferred to contact you, but there's no contact information here. darcyelizabennet@gmail.com.
