Remarks

Mechatronics is offered by Delhi Institute of Tool engineering affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. I chose this course because it is very valuable in countries like Germany and Japan. This course is related to industrial robotics, incorporation of AI in mechanics which has the demand in future. The course curriculum is good, and the only thing I want is that the students should be taught more about the practicals related to this course. As our college is affiliated to GGSIPU, the students can participate in the annual cultural festival Anugoonj. Even our college organises the technical fest Ennogy provided that the students take the initiative in organising it and that the government funds it. For connectivity the college is just 2 km away from Govindpuri metro station on the violet line of DMRC one can easily take an auto, bus or tempo service to reach the college. Students get to experience the various activities held by the government and also apply to the various scholarship schemes launched by both the central and state governments.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Tool Engineering is a division of Industrial Engineering. Its function is to plan the process of manufacture, develop various tools and machines and integrate facilities required for producing particular products with minimal expenditure of time, labour and material. Coursework is designed to include the art of designing jigs, fixtures, press tools, creating die casting designs, plastic moulds designs, mastering advanced plastic processing technologies and becoming perfect in metrology and measurements. B.E./B.Tech in Tool Engineering is a 4-year programme. Tool engineering is based on the use and application of various industrial tools within a manufacturing set-up. Students specialising in this branch of engineering pay attention to the structure and stiffness of the various industrial tools and machines used for creating certain products. One can pursue M.E./M.Tech in Tool Engineering after successful completion of BE/B.Tech.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placements in this college are approximately 100%, and the minimum package offered to our college is Rs. 2 lakhs per annum which is not much good but still better than other private colleges because the fees are very effective. The fee is only Rs. 60,000 per year. The highest package offered in 2017 was approximately Rs. 6.5 lakhs per annum. So, in starting, you can get the placement, and from that, you can increase your experience. Afterwards, you can get a good package from other companies.

College Events

3.5

Last year, a techfest named Ennogy was organised, and that was really good. Scholarships were provided by the university and the Government of Delhi for the students who are economically backward. If you don't want to attend the classes daily, you can join here.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is feasible and one can easily pay off the fee of this college. Since this college is govt affiliated so fee is neither too high nor too low unlike private college charges a heavy amount. The annual fee of this college is 72000 which is a Preety good amount.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since fee of college is not that much so i haven't applied for any scholarship but on the govt portal u can find many options for scholarship. For example a person from minority can get his tuition fee back per annum that is 40000rs by completing all the terms n conditions.

Campus Life

2.5

The infrastructure is not much huge, but it is good. The labs are present for the students. Some of the labs include CAD, CAM, electronics, theory of machines etc. The workshop lab is available. The library is also there with book bank from where you can take books for full semesters. But there is no hostel facility. Sex ratio is 1:4 Means 1 girl on 4 boys

Hostel Facilities

3

No,hostel facility is not available yet. Students have to live in nearby PG's or they can take rooms on rent Nearby C lal chowk is having the facility of PG's and many students access this in order to attend classes.

Alumni/Alumna

Only freshers parties are held in our college. The fest is held at GGSIPU which goes on for 3 days. The crowd is good, and only those students are allowed whose colleges are affiliated with GGSIPU. Our college has a lot of greenery. Jungle surrounded our college but now they have at least made a park around the college which is very good.

Admission

Jee Mains is the entrance exam by means one can get admission in the college.I chose tool engineering because i want to start my own production of die casting and tool engineering deals with tool making and die casting. First of all you have to give mains exam then wait for results After that you will get your rank since my college is ipu affiliated so go to the ipu site then n fill up your registration form Then cutoffs will come out for the admissions then one can take admission if they are having rank in that cutoff

Faculty

3

Approximately half of the faculty members are permanent, and the other half of faculty members are guest faculty. However, all the faculty are good. They want to teach us, and they support us a lot. Some of the faculty members are over excellence, and they provide a good quality of education, but some are not even good. In conclusion, you will have to study by yourself, and you have to show your initiative regarding everything. About the course, as I already said, there are only two branches of engineering including B.Tech in tool engineering and B.Tech in mechatronics.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course curriculum at DTU is quite relevant and comprehensive. The reason I chose this course was the mix of strong fundamentals in the first year—like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Programming—followed by department-specific core and elective courses that allow some flexibility and specialization. The curriculum gives a solid foundation for both real-world applications and further studies, especially through hands-on projects and lab work. That said, some areas could be improved, like including more industry exposure, internships, and practical case studies to bridge theory and real-world problems. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-terms and end-terms) and include assignments and projects as part of evaluation. While most exams are manageable if you keep up with the coursework, a few subjects can be challenging, and preparation is key to avoid surprises.

Placement Experience:

The annual placements at NIT Delhi are consistently getting better year by year where the top branches such as CSE, ECE, and IT are leading the way with their strong placement rates. Many students get hired at very attractive salaries by well-established companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Microsoft, and Amazon. For example, the CTC of the best offers have reached as high as ?15–20 LPA in some instances. The Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical branches also contribute to the university’s overall placement record to some extent. Those students usually boost the available opportunities for themselves by taking up internships and off-campus offers. Moreover, the students who fail to get a job on the campus can still benefit out of the college atmosphere where the strong basics of coding, projects, and practical skills are taught which makes the students quite employable at startups, off-campus, or even when going for higher studies like M.Tech/GATE/abroad. To sum up, NIT Delhi is a very solid foundation for the students whether they want to have a career or continue with their education.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is relevant and comprehensive, with practical modules and industry-focused content that influenced my choice. It effectively bridges academic knowledge with real-world applications. However, adding more case studies and interdisciplinary approaches could enhance learning. Exams are well-timed but could better assess critical thinking. Teaching methods would benefit from integrating more interactive and hands-on sessions.
