Remarks
The campus is huge no doubt. Though the space could be better used for more useful developments and existing buildings could be kept clean rather than building new buildings. Overall the campus is spread over an area of about 365 acres just making it one of the biggest campuses in Goa.
Course Curriculum Overview
It's more of theoretical course than a practical one. Most of things are outdated and when a student once passes graduation he/she is quite blank in the industry. Some faculties are good but most of them prefer theory over pracs.
Placement Experience
The placements arent great as assured. only computer and information technology department have good placement. Civil has literally none. Me being from mechanical department get around 15 students placed. The minimums criteria to appear for campus placements is aggregate above 60%
College Events
There are a number of events taking place in the college premises and outside. The biggest event is happenings which is Goa's biggest intercollegiate fest. Other events within the college include spectrum and tandav. Apart from these events, each department organises it's individual event during council inauguration
Fee Structure And Facilities
Being a government college, the fee structure is quite feasible. It comes to around 2.5L for the entire course of 4 years. OBCs, SC and ST have a concessions fee of about 50% as compared to regular fee.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are many loan facilities available by goa educational development corporation located in Porvorim. They provide interest free loan to the students who have an annual income less than a certain amount. The amount is to be given back after a year from graduation.
Campus Life
There is a lot of concentration given on many anti ragging activities. The gender ratio is almost equal in every department except for mechanical. main technical workshops are organised in the college especially by ZETAQUBE one of the notable workshop conductor and parts seller in Goa. Naugarh is basically divided on the basis of their religion and economic status.
Hostel Facilities
Though I have not opted for the hostel facilities, the hostel are ok or not so good. The water supply for hostels is not regular. The toilets are not well maintained The cost is very much affordable but the food also provided is not up to the marks. Overall it's not a bad place to stay for 4 years at that less rate.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumina network of the college is quite powerful. Many of the aluminis are doing great in the industry. We have many talks organised to facilitate interaction between the students and aluminis. many of the aluminis working in various fields related to engineering are called for talks.
Admission
Goa Common Entrance Test(GCET) is the only criteria to get admission in my college. The merit list is then prepared on the basis of combined score lf physics and mathematics. Also to qualify for GCET total marks in boards should be above 50%
Faculty
Yes the faculty should have a minimum mtech/me degree to be able to teach in the college. Lots of faculties are doctorate holders in various fields of their personal interest. The contract faculties need a lot improvement though but it's better to give them their own time to get over the course though it's a loss for the students.
