Likes

The faculty is very nice the teaching and the faculty both are good .
the environment is very good students learn better
The placemnets are more than 90% And the avergae package is good for a start

Dislikes

There is no proper discipline in the college its not that strict
students smoke putside the college and in the follege premises
College is kind of slow in giving placements but u get good placements

Course Curriculum Overview

The college has a name it is famous and the education they give is very nice my friends went there and recommended me . To look forward like other colleges this college too they only teach students how to work and get a job they dont teach u how u can build a business Teaching methods are good but assigments are lot students spend their time writting assigments and they dont get time to study . Timings for exam is perfect ill say .

The 5th semester students became eligible for the college placements Companies like cipla ,suzlon highest package is around 8 lakhs they say around 90% students got placemnets After i get a degree ill do masters in the same college

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is simple The fee is devided in 2 parts half after sem 1 and other half after sem 2 with an income certificate the fee becomes half the amount and st/sc they have scholarships They can apply for it by providing the certificate

Campus Life

There are many events The dandiya event the gec event The gini and many more The library is pretty good books are nice sports its the best there are 5 or more grounds a very big place there are many social groups , clubs like eco club, the robotics club

Admission

I had applied for amity but fid t had that much money i thought of getting a scholarship but i didnt get i chose this college because i knew the teaching was prettyy good I didnt get rejected from other colleges The admission process is simple U have to write a gorm n submit to the DTE then merit list will come and then ull get to choose . Depends on the number of seats available.

Faculty

The Faculty is very good Very helpfull . I liked my electronics faculty they wer helpull and used to make us the concepts clearly everyone were good but some faculty members they used to smoke with the students which i hate there are 2 ISA (Internal exam ) each semester and one sem term exam .

Night Life

Night life is chill there is college gym for workout there are many cafes there is no nearby hostel Hangout place nearby is margao there are many places to hangout panjim is also near . The mountains also are pretty good in this area

BITS Pilani, Goa Campus- A road to an interesting life.

Placement Experience:

Students can start sitting in placements from the start of 4th year , when the Placement Division starts bringing companies to the campus. The average package for CS is around 20-26 LPA, for Electrical branches it's around 18-24 LPA and for Mechanical and Chemical it is around 13-16 LPA. These figures would've changed though from the last time I saw. Around 85-90% of the students get placed usually. Top notch companies like Google, Microsoft , DE Shaw, Arcesium Cohesity Rubrick recruit students every year for the tech roles and other prominent companies like Flipkart, Sprinkle, Intuiut and Coin Switch come for managerial roles as well. There is even a chance of getting a PPO through Summer Internship Program which kikstarts in the 3rd year where students compete to get internship in these top companies. Overall , BITS Goa has impeccable placement statistics

BITS Pilani unfiltered: A deep dive into the campus.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible to college placements from 7th semester More than 300 companies visit every year which include MNCs, startups, spread over all major domains like IT, Electronics, consulting, finance, core, product management etc The highest package varies every year but the average stands at around 18-20lpa. more than 90% of the students get placed every year. i plan to build my career in ET industry after my degree.

Bits Goa good or not

Placement Experience:

There is a dept for placements. 70 to 80 percent people get placed woth average package of 20 lakhs per annum. Mostly ot depends on interviews and how good internship you get in 3rd year. Cg plays a very imp role too.

Placement Experience:

I have no clue but the highest placements are in Computer and IT branches. Civil has probably the least placement. The quality is good thanks to IIT and NIT being in the same campus thus the big companies that come to those colleges also come to our colleges but they prefer those students more because NIT and IIT are more prestigious colleges.

GEC REVIEW BY A STUDENT

I don't need to answer this in detail, simple answer is that it is the only Government Engineering College in Goa. There is NIT and IIT, both in same campus as my college along with ITI. I didn't get admission into IIT and NIT and ITI who even wants to go so I took admission into GEC. That too I wanted Computer Engineering but didn't get it due to my rank thus I opted for IT because the syllabus is more or less the same for both the branches and just the order of subjects is different. What we have now, they'll have later on in the future semesters and vice versa....Read More

The truth about the GOA COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING

I got a seat at Vellore institute of technology, Bhopal in the CSE branch. But I chose not to study at VIT bhopal as the college is really crowded and as the colleges is privately owned the stakeholders are money minded they try to take money from students in every possible way.Also my seniors had warned me about the toxic environment at VIT Bhopal. I didn't get rejection from any colleges but I failed to get a good enough score to get CSE at MIT Manipal and i could only get mechanical engineering in which I want intrested. My college takes admission based on JEE rank. Each students has to apply at the Directorate of technical education, Goa online portal. After which a merit list is rolled out. 4 Years of Self Learnings and Enjoyment

The admission to degree colleges is done on the basis of an exam called GCET Goa Common Entrance Test. This is changed from this year to JEE and from hence admission will be considered from jee score of candidates. So for GCET we had to answer PCM questions, they were mcqs and there was no negative marking. For every correct ans 1 marks was credited. During my admission it was all done online because of COVID 19 we could find all forms and even the admission forms and lists online.
