Remarks

Infrastructure not upto the mark. Some Lab equipments doesn't work properly. Classes and labs don't justify more than 1 LPA fees. Faculties are good and experienced. Admin department lacks staff as they have lots of work but limited staff. Library is Good and enough collection of book is there.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Curriculum of GTU is being changed in every semester that we enter. Basically they are changing curriculum of some subjects but still on the whole course curriculum is not upto the mark. It's all theory in the course with not much emphasis on practical and research. Colleges follow the course designed by GTU and also exam structure is given by University itself. We have 1 mid term exam and 1 end semester exam. So exam structure is not much hectic. Around 30 hours of lectures per week including 8 hrs of lab. A little hectic as we are in college for around 8 hours.

Placement Experience

2

Placement and job opportunities are strictly okay. Especially for my Electrical engineering department not many companies visit. Torrent Power and TCS do give jobs every year. Around 7-8 students get placement in Torrent and 2-3 in TCS. Average CTC ranges from 2.5-3.75 LPA.

College Events

3

Techfest Kshitij every year in month of September. Youthfest Exuberance in March. Annual fest VERVE in April. Most of the events are of college level and some students from nearby institute participate in them.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's little expensive if we look at overall infrastructure and study package they provide. Annual fees is more than 1.1 lakh. Fees are increased every year by around 7-8k?. Overall facilities and infrastructure is not upto the mark given the fees they take.

Fees and Financial Aid

Student scholarship is provided by trust to the needy students. MYSY scheme is run by Government of Gujarat under which students get half the fees from government. Digital Gujarat gives 5000? every year to students.

Campus Life

2.5

Gender Ratio: Being an engineering college, girls are very less especially in the department except Computer engineering. Workshop regarding different topics are organised frequently. There is no any kind of intolerance with regards to Gender, Race, Religion etc.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are very helpful. They give helpful inputs to the junior students. Many Seniors provide us with notes and books. In different fests they do encourage students to participate. Overall it's very good to have a talk with any alumni.

Admission

In Gujarat, ACPC is the admission council for the colleges that are under GTU(Gujarat technological University). Based on the marks in 12th PCM(Physics, Chemistry and Maths) and GUJCET entrance a rank is given to all the students and merit list is generated and then According to the choice filling from students seats are allocated. I Choose Electrical engineering in SCET because I am interested in that field and college has good faculties in the Electrical department with decent labs.

Faculty

3.5

Many faculties have done Phd in different subjects. Most of the facilities are in the college for a long time. Though some are not upto the mark but overall they are good and experienced. They do support students in project and other works if students show interest.

Placement Experience:

I am in my 7th semester and I was asked to apply. After beging rejected from two I was still provided the opportunity and in 4th attempt I finally made it. Likewise every student is provided ample chances and mostly in penultimate semester around 70% students are placed. Rest all get one final chance in the massive placements activity in the final semester.
