IISER TVM review

Far from the city. You have to travel by bus if you want to go to Thiruvananthapuram city. But you will get many things in vithura(the closest market here). This place is very beautiful. Many tourist spots are there to travel and enjoy.

The courses are really good. Follows standard structure. And the main focus is the research line. You have to do a major project which is somehow similar to doing research. It helps you building confidence. Labs and exams are not that hectic.

You can get internships here but not sure about the stipend. It is mainly an educational internship. you will learn a lot. Placements are also not there. But mainly people go for PHDs after doing BSMS. Nearly everyone wants to go for a Ph.D. and hopes to become a scientist one day.

Cultural festival- ISHYA 1.dance competition 2.singing competition 3.poetry competition 4.drama competition 5.pro shows, etc Sports festival -Ishya All types of sports are there. Science festiva- Anvesha- Many competitions and entertainments related to science Hindi Divas, Holi, Diwali, Onam, Saraswati Puja, Pongal, Ganesh puja, and many other festivals are there.

It's going high year by year. Currently, it is 45000 may be. Not sure about that.14400 is mess+hostel fees. Hostels are mandatory.Sc/st doesn't need to give any tuition fees. The fee hike is a big issue here. Please request MHRD to maintain it.

You can get inspired if you are eligible. If you are not getting inspire you can apply for NSP. Normally you get 10k per year and 20k in the 4th year and 5th year. For sc and st students NSP has better scholarships.

Labs you can join and work accordingly. They are very helpful. There are a wide variety of labs in every subject. Sports are really a good thing here. We have a good indoor stadium,a big ground(outdoor),a volleyball ground,kho -kho ground,tennis etc.

Hostels are mandatory here for bsms students. Hostels are really clean and in great condition. All of them are new. Hostels are cleaned on daily basis. Separate hostel for boys and girls.There are- 1.Agasatya 2.Ponmudi 3.sispara. 4.eravimala 5.Pushpa Giri 6.Anamudi hostels.

The Alumni network is really helpful. My many seniors are doing their PhDs abroad. They are always cheering for us and help us in every way possible. Tips and suggestions are common. IISER TVM arranges some meetings where you can talk to alumni and learn from their experiences.

There are three ways. 1.SCB 2.jee advanced 3.kvpy I entered this college through the SCB exam.it is taken by IISERS. Exams are not that hard but you must have a basic understanding of science(math, chem, phy, bio).

Faculties are really good and the way of teaching is exceptional. But some professors are not that good. The bio department is very good. Every professor here is doing research. The environment is also helpful.
