Remarks

One cannot find studying environment easily here. But if one finds his/her company then it will be very good. College is in good location. One gets enough time to give on hobbies. Its good as compared to other govt. colleges in Pubjab.

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum in the college is made in such a way that students are up to date with current development in computer science. Curriculum is organised and carried out smoothly throughout the semester. Total of 3 exams are held in a semester. 2 mid semester exams and one final exam. The day does not become very hectic but it is busy.

Placement Experience

Placement is steadily increasing. In computer science branch, companies like infosys, HCL and this time Samsung also came for placements. Average was around 4 lacs per annum. Samsung was offering 12 lacs per annum

College Events

In odd semester, Atharva event is organised by our college where many competitions and Technical events take place. In even semester, Anand Utsav is organised where some celebrities and artist come and perform on the stage. Youth festival and inter PTU competitions also take place. Inter College sports events are also held

Fee Structure And Facilities

For a general category student, the fees is lumpsum 1 lakh per year. While students who are sikh or are from minorities, their fees is even less. So we can say the fees structure is feasible. If one gets admission through PTU counselling, then fees gets down to Rs. 60000per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

1. Gndec alumni scholarship 2. Bihar government student loan scheme for bihari Students. Some other scholarship can also be availed through a written exam. Students can also take loan from banks in which they can pay the loan in one year after completion of BTech without any interest.

Campus Life

Gender ratio is approx 1:2. ISTE, Cultural Committee, SCIE etc are the clubs. Good mix of diversity. There is also a Gurudwara inside the college. Events at regular keeps happening. Events are also organised by societies in the college.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel rooms are pretty good. Separate hostels for every year students. In 1 room 3 students are there. All students are accommodated in hostels only. Mess also serves decent food. PGs are also available outside with rent of Rs. 3000 per month

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Good alumni network element. They sometimes come and visit and share their experiences with us. Senior students also help in various ways. Many meetings are held and we get a chance to interact with the alumini to learn.

Admission

Admission in this college is done on the basis of JEE Engineering exam all India rank. If the rank is under cut off then admission procedure is carried out in the month of June and mid of July Forms are available on the college website. We have to download 2 forms, fill it and then go for counselling on a date provided by the college

Faculty

All the faculties have completed their Masters some have completed their PhD or undergoing PHD. Everyone has great enthusiasm to teach except a few. They are always willing to help the students. Then encourage us to study and work

The infrastructure is great with state of the art labs and equipment
The library is really nice place to study
Lots of hangout spots in and around campus

Less opportunities for core branches as less core companies visit campus
75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Inside NITJ- Beyond the Brochure

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Likes

The environment of the college is so nice, helpful staff, AC labs for CS deptt.
Canteen and water facilities and park in both deptts
Skilled professional educators and tutors

Dislikes

Distance of travelling coz for me its too much far
Nothing as of now everything was good enough

Placement Experience:

- Limited campus opportunities were available, and most students become eligible from the final year. - The average package was around 2-5 LPA. - after my degree my plan is to improve my employability my strengthening my technical skill in my domain

Big campus and beautiful garden and environment
Aqi was soo good because plants and tree was so much

Mess food was bad but it doesn't taste that bad
If we Complaint about anything college mostly ignore it

From 7th sem students become eligible for campus placements and tata or Infosys companies visited and about 60 to 70 percent students were placed and my plans after getting the degree is to opt for higher studies doing mtech from iit

I like the most about the college the placement criteria and the way built your confidence
Also the hostel is very good and provide food 4 times
The campus explorer is also very nice according to me

Faculty is not soo well had a lit bit inconvenience
Hostel mess food is not good at some time
Placement is decent and average as like other collage

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

I like the machines that's why I choose the mechanical branch in engineering line. Noida , Gurgoan , Chandigarh , Bengluru and many other areas for improvements in the course curriculum and teaching methods.

Good infrastructure, campus and faculty. Have to improve placements and industrial visits.

Likes

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

The sports and the various facilities that they provide for relaxing
The Library that remains open till 10-11 at night for those who wish to study till late
Great mentors and very helpful teachers who are always willing to help

Dislikes

The hectic schedule and curriculum that the students have to follow.
The lack of certain facilities that would help the students improve thoer personalities
Too much strictness and restrictions with everything that someone wishes to do

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum

1) I only applies to Guru nanak dev engineering college ludhiana and Lovely professional university Phagwara . For taking admission in this college you can take admission on the basis of your board exam marks. You can get admission if you have minimum 40% marks in your board exam as well. For taking admission in CSE or IT branch you should have atleast 85% or more marks scored in your board exam. If you are from home state you might get reservation benefit. In this college 85% seats are reserved for home state students and rest 15% for other students as well as for home state.
