Prakhar Mohan's Review On Galgotias College Of Engineering And Technology - [GCET], Greater Noida

I took UPSEE (UP State Entrance Examination) and via UPSEE my rank was 11,000. As 11,000 is a pretty decent rank but all the government colleges gets closed on 5000. So after 5000 the top private engineering colleges open and galgotias is among the top private colleges in Northen INDIA. I choose JSS Noida also but did not got through as CS branch was already full. But I got the next best thing in Galgotias.

Galgotias College is affiliated through UPTU and it follows the strict UPTU curriculum and the there is a eligibility criteria for teachers and and in our college every teacher fulfilled that criteria. Most of the teachers were M-Tech with Phd pursuing. The faculty in overall is good except few.

Galgotias did not have the internship program at all so all the students had to look for their own options outside the college.

Galgotias is placed No 1 in terms of placement as it calls the maximum no of companies possible throughout the final semester as they want each and every one to get a placement. Top companies came to our college like Wipro, Samsung,Indian navy,Infosys. Accenture etc.In one stretch Wipro took 300 students from the final yr batch.

Galgotias one has one fest as their annual fest. Unlike IITs or AIEEE colleges Galgotias do not have multiple fests. They only have "G-Qusar" and that too started in March 2013. The fest was organized on a large scale and it included various celebrities like KK, Honey Singh, Sunburn,etc. In this fest various cultural and literary programs also took place in which many colleges participated.

The UPTU provides scholarship to needy students. There is no loans or scholarship provided by college itself

Students enjoy the campus life to full extent. The college has only 5 working days so rest two days are holidays. There are big and huge grounds where students could play cricket, basketball, badminton,football,hockey,volleyball etc. As always the male ratio was more than that of the female ratio but not that high. On an average there were 20-25 girls in each class which had 60 students.The labs were newly built with all the facilities. There was no sports competition as the college administration did not took part in that but we did that unofficially. Various programs took place between each semester so as to change the minds of students .

There are two hostels in Galgotias Campus .and both are for boys. The Girls hostel is outside the campus. To be honest the hostels of galgotia are third class. I spent all 4 yrs in that hostel and you won`t get any facility. There are just plain rooms wit
