My college

So one and only drawback is it lacks hostel till date. You can stay in PGs. There are many PGs around the college. The college is new, but patient flow is very good. At least 200 new patients come to outdoor in a normal day. So rest you don't need to worry about.

You have four professional years to complete and one year compulsory stipend internship to get your registration. Labs are new and work can be done with ease. There are two exams in a professional year. One is internal and one final exam.

You have to complete one year of stipend compulsory internship. You will be posted in each department and you will get to work on patients. You dont need to give any exam in this year. Current stipend is about 22000 per month.

You get to participate in various events and camps organized by different departments. National days of each stream are celebrated with speech,poster competition,debate and quiz competitions. Also different seminar are organized by IDA and other organization. Dental camps are also organized in local schools.

As it is a government college. You have to pay only 6. 5 k per semester and additional 2k as exam fees. There as eight semester. So total around 50 thousand as fees in four years and about 10 thousand as exam fees for 4 professional years.

College doesn't give any concession or loan to the students. You can arrange that from any bank. As it is government Institution you cannot debate about fee structure. But different scholarships are available for needy and minority students in government website.

So as there is entrance there is no fixed gender ratio. Student Union organize different parties and cultural events throughout the year. There are students from all ethnicity,race, religion and they keep harmony among themselves. Though large number of students are from bengal English and hindi are also spoken. Saraswati puja, Iftar party, College Fest, Sports Days, the list is long.

When we came to the college it was only 4 years old and we had no idea what to do, what to read and even where to live. Senior students helped in every short of way they could. In this era of social media you could easily reach a senior and they happily share there experiance with you. Also in college fest reunion also organized so you can interact with you alumni.

You have to go through the NEET-UG and followed by councilling for administration. So there are 3 government dental college in west bengal and burdwan is considered 2nd best after R Ahmed dental college.

So there are eight departments and there are qualified and very senior as well as young professor and clinical tutors to guide you through the course as well as to develop your clinical knowledge, ability and skill. Some professor are so good at there craft you will feel blessed to work and learn under them.
