Remarks
The college does have a good infrastructure and also has ample facilities which are required by an architect.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is more about hard work, practice sheets, research part and also the finer aspects of designing The curriculum is derived out from the university syllabus for that year. In this way each semester there is a newer project to touch base and design from scratch. IVs are an important part of architectural life. Apart from the fun to see the spaces and buildings designed by the great architects like Le Corbusier, B.V.Doshi, Charles Correa is more than fascinating. The curriculum helps for the all-round development of the child and not only the materialistic part of the life-like studies and grades. It helps the student become street smart and a hard worker.
Placement Experience
Many of my seniors and super seniors got placed into good firms and companies and are happy with the placement. Currently, our college has a 100% placement rate. Whilst architecture colleges do not have a placement cell per se so everyone has to apply with their own merit and portfolio.
College Events
Our college has EPOCH which is the cultural fest and it goes on for three days The fest constitutes cultural night, installation and exhibition. The cultural night consist of dance, drama, music, fashion show. Similar there are cultural days celebrated in college in the second part of the year. The college also celebrates its Sports day in mid-January or February.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is the average fee per year and is almost the same for many colleges. There is an extra fund of Rs 20,000 which needs to be paid for the student council. Thus a part of the money is used for field trips and also some nearby site visits.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, I haven't opted for any scholarship but there is a provision of scholarship for minority quota and for people with weak economic background.
Campus Life
The campus life is limited to the gazebo area and area around the campus. The college is a six storied building and has library, two computer labs, workshop area, leveling and surveying lab to mention a few. The whole college and classrooms are air-conditioned and the college has an indoor sports room as well as an in house printer in the computer lab. Girls to Boys ratio is 2:1 with very culturally diverse students coming from different backgrounds.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors and super seniors are very helpful with any kind of problem or a kind of design solution. They help you at all times and are super friendly with you.
Admission
The NATA scores and 2017 HSC examination marks are added together and the total is counted out of 200. After getting the college in the second round I froze the option and then went to college to pay the admission form with the admission fee. The course deals with designing not only the facades of buildings but also the spatial aspects keeping in mind the human ergonomics and psychology. Thus to design with aesthetics and good spaces is the reason i opted for the course.
Faculty
The faculties are very friendly and approachable and have an in-depth knowledge of the filed. They help to solve doubts at any point in college or even outside the college. Visiting faculties are practicing architects who have experience in teaching and in the field of more than 40+ years. There are seminars by companies like Birla, TATA, UltraTech, etc for fieldwork and demonstration.
