College review

Course is good, interesting and a lot of fun activities takes place and students will definitely enjoy once they go through their practical class, especially kitchen classes will be a great to most of the students as per my experience they will enjoy and learn a lot of new thinks about the industry. All the respective labs and practical classes are well equipped, no complain regarding infrastructure or technical factors. I am sure student's will come to about many things which will help them in their daily life.

Placement and jobs are well and good the students are getting jobs in hotels as well as retail sectors and few other sectors related to hospitality. Yes our college do provide internship (2nd year) either on summer or winter batch. The training is of 17 weeks and the students are placed in any of the 5* property of the city which is decided by series of interviews from different brands. Once a candidate is selected the person is blocked form other interviews.

A lot of events takes place in the college. Previously we used to celebrate the largest food fest of East India but something else takes place, each and every festival is celebrated in the college and menu's are also set accordingly, sports enthusiast will also find a lot during the sports week, dance, song's, fashion show are also their. No need to worry there are lots of curriculum activities to participate.

Fees is to be paid at the beginning of each semester (online), in our time it was 3. 5 lakhs for the entire course most probably the fees has increased. Compared to other private college's our fees structure is quite feasible, hotel management being on of the expensive course.

Already discussed above there are lot of activities to participate students will never will bored. January will be a month when students will enjoy the most because of the sports week and the cultural week held in the college their will be sports like cricket, football, badminton, and other indoor games and in cultural week can go for singing or dance and even ramp walks and fashion show.

I was a day scholar, so no info regarding hostel. But as per my knowledge hostel allotment is decided according to the ranks of the students, and it's tough to get a hostel and even if someone gets their is a lot of rules and regulations one as to abide.

Nothing remarkable to talk about except, once I was in the first year locker and one senior who just completed his internship was sharing his experience which after hearing I understood that I need to be super active and fast to run with the flow of the industry.

For getting admission in any of the IHM the candidate needs to clear the entrance exam, forms are available from the college or online maybe. The candidate needs to put their college location according to their preference, but the college they will get will be depending directly upon the rank of the candidate, followed by 3 counseling rounds among which the final one is the physical counseling. If the student has not got their preferred location in the first round.

No doubt regarding the faculty of IHM Kolkata, each on of them are stunning in their respective departments. They are friendly, energetic, hard working, they are very much interested to impart their knowledge to students and to mould the students mind according to the industry. Teachers are always ready to explain if someone is facing any problem with the notes with out getting irritated.
