My view about my college - XISS

Yes. This college is 60 years old with same infrastructure it used to have way back then. Now with time changing it need to rebuild itself to claim back its glorious years. It has very limited space for extra curricular activites.

The course structure is mediocre.They teach all same old theories with very less of labs and practical.Will get little or no exposure to real world scenario.Exams are held once in every four months with class test going throught out the year.Not much pressure kind of chilled out situation.

College do ensure placement and internship for all the students.But then it may compromise on package and job description.For instance marketing students are offered role in microfinance.Avg ctc is 5.5 lakhs per annum.Stipend for internship are not much it ranges generally from 10-25k per month.And most of the internship are unpaid

Since their is crunch of space so we used to have very limited event.Our annual event is panache held around month of feb witnessing 3 days events with many fun games and activites dj show, fashion show, ramp walk, battle of bands and many more.We have marketing event for the student of marketing to test their marketing skills in real life.

As compared to other colleges the fees here is moderate.Currently the tution fee is around 8 lakhs for 2 years payable in 6 installments.But if the amenities provided to students are compared then the fees happen to be expensive.

Alumni do offer some scholarship to meritous students based on their performance in 1st year but thats ranges to around 1 lakh INR.Various banks offer loan.Since xiss is a household name in that area so banks easily give loan but then you need to pay your 1st installment to get admission papers from the college for loan purpose.

The ratio of male:female is 2:1.We have annual basketball tournament among various department.That is it in terms of sports.Their is very little tolerance against any type of discrimination based on gender, caste or anything of that sort.

It has strong alumni base since its a 60 plus years old college.Alumni do visit their college to give valuable insight on industries they are working with also they are helpful for the student with regard to placement and hiring.

You need to cross cutoff criteria for either of the entrance exam that is Cat Xat or cmat.Every year cutoff changes and are available in its official website.Once cut off is clear you are eligible for gdpi round.Once you are through this.Seats are allotted based on availablity.

Some professors are highly qualified with great knowledge on their area of interest.But new faculty coming In are not that great but anyways they are good in terms of fresh mind with industry exposure.
