Remarks
It's better than any other private institutes like vit, manipal, chitkara, CU, lovely. Except Thapar University. Talking about its rank it may be below Thapar and PEC. The main thing here is placements. Placements in CGC are great.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course structure is satisfactory. It is not much great. That's similar to other universities or colleges. Talking about the exam structure. That's horrible, the mid sem exam structure is ok ok but talking about the semester exams that's horrible. This college is affiliated to PTU (Punjab Technical University) and hence semester exams are also conducted under PTU I didn't like their examination structure. Many times mass supplies are there which creates a problem.
Placement Experience
Placements are the reason why most of the students come to CGC. Placements are excellent as compared to other private universities or colleges. Almost everyone gets a placement in engineering as well as other branches also have nice placement stats. College does not provide internships but you can grab the placements without that there are classes every weekend to prepare students for placements. Grabbing an offer of 6 lakhs or more one has to work hard and be in the cream layer of the batch. Student have to make his coding stronger. This college is way more better than VIT or Manipal and Chitkara. Their fee structure and placements are very much better than them.
College Events
There are not much cultural events as compared to other private universities, but there are many technical fests. It depends on the individual which type of events he wants to participate in. Despite fewer cultural fests, there are many ways for a student to explore in his or her college life.
Fee Structure And Facilities
For B.tech Semester fees- Rs 43,000 Hostel fees÷ 2 seater- 95,000 (sukhsagar hostel) 3 seater- 85,000 (New boys hostel) 4 seater- 80,000 (Sadbhavna hostel and basera) There are no single seater hostels. For 2 seater college mention 90,000 but its 95,000 I would personally recommend three seater hostel instead of 2 seater.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships are available for the students scoring good rank in JEE Mains I don't know about other ways. I have also heard about scholarships through board marks but not met anyone availing that. There are also scholarships for students whose father is serving in army or might in other govt. sectors.
Campus Life
Gender ratio is satisfactory in computer science branch. In other branches it is very poor rather in electrical and mechanical girls are very rare to find. Gender ratio in pharmacy is good. Pharmacy have a good gender ratio. I don't know why but most of the girls choose pharmacy block.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel infrastructure of hostels is good except new boys hostel it's not much clean the food is ok ok one can live with that food but don't expect much. One thing to remember is that a fresher must not go for a 2 seater. It's not that much great. Mess staff is good. They listen to the demands.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni and seniors are helpful. No ragging is there in the whole campus.Seniors guide well but one has to find a good senior who had actually achieved well in his college life. Many of the seniors I have met are great and good.
Admission
I got admission in Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran through direct admission. My score in 12th boards was 81.2% so I easily got computer science branch in the college as the minimum percentage required was 75. Well, percentage is just for formality and I came to know that after the classes started. I have seen many students getting computer science branch even after scoring below 75%.
Faculty
Talking about faculty my review varies a lot from teacher to teacher. Almost half of the faculty have done doctorate in their respective subjects. Although faculty is also very supportive and polite but as not all the fingers of hand are equal there are some teachers which are no more less than a horrible dream
