Remarks

Positive remark- Workload is less, so you can prepare sideways for other competition exams. Course is lenient and not quite difficult to pass. Negative remarks- some teachers aren't helpful, new infrastructure work is going on and will be functional from next year as old infrastructure is in dilipidated situation.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

It's pretty decent but is old fashioned. So is the case with the curriculum all over India, practical knowledge is less focused and theoretical knowledge is preferred. Though the courses are lenient but if you have to get good grades, you have to work hard. Around 25-30 hours of classes and labs in a week which gives us ample time for other activities as well. Exams were normal and it depends upon the course instructor how difficult he wishes to make question paper.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placement is the thing NIT Jamshedpur can boat upon. specially in CSE ECE branches. Major companies that came were- Microsoft Amazon Adobe Goldman Sachs General electronics Tata steel L&T Their package and salaries were pretty good too with highest reaching upto 43 lpa.

College Events

4

Ojass- Techno management fest Culfest- Cultural fest Urja- sports fest Vidhaan- civil branch fest Technica- Metallurgy branch fest Cognitio- Mechanical branch fest Cultural and technical fest were 2nd biggest in East India after IIT Kharagpur one.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure for general Candidate including all expenses of mess and hostel is 104000 i. e, 1 lakh 4 thousand per semester. Candidate whose parents income is less than 1 lakh per annum is exempted from paying tuition fees while income between 1-5 lakh per annum is exempted 2/3rd of tuition fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

SBI Bank has a branch in college itself. Various loan facility are available. Household having income below 1 lakh are exempted from paying tuition fee. Household having income between 1-5 lakh per annum are exempted 2/3rs of the total fee.

Campus Life

3.5

Labs are developing and decent. It has been renovated recently. Sports facility is quite good. College has separate cricket, football, hockey, athletics ground. There is also numerous lawn tennis, basketball, volleyball, badminton courts too. Gender ratio is around 20 percent of girls overall. There are many societies like literary, debating, dramatics, fashion, quizzing and all are open to everyone regardless of caste race gender religion or anything at all.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel is major plus point. Single room for all students from 2nd year onwards. Separate hostels for all years students. Lift, TV sports facility available in hostel. Mess also attached nearby in hostel. Rent to be paid is 15 thousands per semester.

Alumni/Alumna

There is an active Industry and alumni relations team (I&AR) Which connects students and alumni together. Many students connect with alumni which helps them in finding internships and job prospect. Senior junior binding is also brilliant in the campus.

Admission

I got 20204 rank in JEE mains, I was more inclined in choosing core branches, so I opt for civil engineering in NIT Jamshedpur as it's placement is pretty good and work load is pretty lenient. I had options like choosing Patna or durgapur's NIT too but Jamshedpur was a better one and also situated in a better location. So it was a win win situation. I got admission after 7 rounds of counselling in JOSAA.

Faculty

3

Faculty though is highly educated but it seems a quite few of them don't have high degree of proficiency in teaching. Because teaching is an art, no matter how highly educated you are, sometimes you can't convey the message to your students. So faculty in my opinion isn't much great.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.
