The American College, often referred to as American College, is one of the oldest colleges present in India, located in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. It was founded in 1881 by American Christian missionaries. The red-brick buildings, in the Saracenic style, blend with the natural surroundings constructed by British architect Henry Irwin.

It's good science course and we have very good faculty in our college and hence it's an autonomous institution exams are conducted completely inside the college. The process was simple, we have two internals exam and one final exam in a semester.

Yes, my college offer intership and also we have many lecturer level posts in our college. our college mostly have govt. Professors Which means they are paid by government. In terms of students career our college students have a bright future and our alumni are in various fields in many countries

There was lot of celebrations in our college. AMFEST is the annual cultural fest. TYCOONS is the annual cultural festival celebrated by the Department of BBA. It was previously a part of COMMAS but was soon separated. COMMAS: The Commerce association conducts an inter-college cultural event called the COMMAS every year for two days. Colleges from all over Tamil Nadu participate in this function. The success of this function is evident from the funds that are granted by the business community in and around Madurai. REPHISO: The Religion, Philosophy, and Sociology Association organizes national and international seminars under the banner of REPHISO. Intellectuals, philosophers, sociologists, and social activists around the globe participate. So far Swami Agnivesh, Aruna Roy, Medha Patkar, Prashant Bhushan, Harsh Mander are some of the notable philosophers and social activists who were guest of honor. PEGASUS: The English Department inter-college literary fiesta is famous for its drama, theater arts, street play. PEGASUS is also known as the Opera of Madurai. BYTES: The Department of Computer Science conducts this inter-collegiate IT symposium. HOVER: The Department of Computer Application conducts this intercollegiate meet. ICAS: The Department of Economics conducts this Intercollegiate competition. PHOBOS:The Department of Physics conducts this Intercollegiate competition. Colleges from all over Tamil Nadu participate in this event. CHEM-GLAZE:The Department of chemistry conducts this Intercollegiate competition. This competition is entirely organized and funded by the under-graduate students(both regular and self students) under the guidance of professors. Colleges from across Tamil Nadu participate in this event. Post graduation students conduct the quiz competition. It is famous for its Trouble shooting, Treasure hunt, PPT, Poster making, Quiz. It depends upon students Creativity, Critical thinking, Understanding, Problem solving, etc.

Our fess structure is reasonable for all For aided students it's just 8000 to 12000 Rupees per year Which comprises of two semesters based on their course. But the aided course in only available for men and not women The fees for Self financed was about 25000-35000 based on their course for one year which comprises of two semesters

A vast playground is located in sylvan surroundings. There are courts for tennis, flood-lit basketball, volley ball, fields for football, cricket, hockey and well-laid tracks for athletic events. Students are expected to actively participate in sports and games.

About a third of the students live in five halls on campus, one of which is for women. Up to eight to nine students live in a room. Each hall is under the care of a warden, assisted by resident young faculty. They are available for consultation and advice when needed. The mess rates are kept between 2600-3000 per month accommodation 26000 per year, affordable even to economically challenged students. Elected student representatives manage the mess, under a dividing system. There is no provision for special food even at extra cost.

My college was one of the best arts and science Colleges in my surroundings. It's a very old college located in the heart of the city. After completing my Schooling I decided to join here, This course was suggested by my uncle and I put an application there in my college and I got a message that "you're provisionally selected". Then I paid the fees and complete my admission process

They are well experienced and knowledgeable person, They teach us in a friendly manner. we can approach them without any fear. Their classes were good both in theory and practical classes. We have more than 15 experienced staff in our college
