The campus is picturesque and is indeed one of the most beautiful campuses across the country. The lush green campus spread over 1200 acres gives you all you need as a student or a professional and the natural ambience is really useful to stay focused.

Arguably the best institution in India for forestrt research. The course curriculum is extremely handy for those who want to pursue career in forestry or allied sciences. Course is divided into 4 semesters and Choice based credit system is used for merit evaluation.

Placement for the course of Wood Science is 100%. For forestry and environment management it stands around 60%. Several disciplines within the institute provide short term trainings and internships. I am presently working as a project assistance. Stipends are given as per ICFRE guidelines.

The institution celebrates the following activities every year annually or monthly. All the students, scientists, academicians, technical stuffs and other employees of the institution take part in these activities. Fee structure is feasible for Ph.D. course albeit a bit expensive for the masters courses. However provided the quality of teaching and work environmennt, it's worth every penny. Presently the masters fee structure is optimised and the excursion and study tour costs are incorporated in the same.

Nothing as such for Indian students but for students coming from SAARC countries as per GoI guidelines some relaxation is on offer. In many cases their entire tuition fee is waived off. Every year certain no of seats are reserved for foreign students.

The hostels and the campus are well equipped with gym and other sport facilities. Students take part regularly in the annual sports. They perform in good numbers in almost all the cultural activities going around the campus.

Hostels are with state of the art facilities. Well equipped with gyms and other gaming facilities within the campus. Rooms are spacious and well connected to LAN. Mobile network is an issue in most of the hostels. However, BSNL is the only operator working in the hostel lremises.

The alumni of each course is well connected to the students from on going batches and are extremely helpful and understanding. They are committed towards the goal of the institute and time and again lend their supporting hand for the incumbents.

I came across an advertisement online at fridu.edu.in and applied for post graduation. There was an all India entrance and based on the merit of the same a counselling was arranged. Selection was done accordingly.

Probably the best available in the country in the sectors of Forestry and Wood Science and technology. Generally the scientists, technical officers and Ph.D. scholars from several disciplines across the institute are assigned the roles of faculties. Eminent academicians from other institutes of national and international repute too are invited as guest faculties.
