Remarks

Panjab University is great with almost all possible ways to get you to a better citizen and make use of your quality education, it makes you think if you just want a degree or education.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The bachelors honours degree imparts quality research-driven education through a focus on research articles, comprehensive projects based on ongoing research in your respective field, the course is broken into 6 semesters of bachelors and 4 semesters of masters. You have mid semesters in the middle of the term and a final exam which asses your ability to perform what you have done in the whole semester. Overall the course structure promotes academic vigour and tilts you towards a research-driven career trajectory.

Placement Experience

3

Internships are encouraged from 2nd year and professors are a real asset in this area, some of my professors have gone out of their way to write me recommendation letters and help with my internship application at various research institutions because it is research-based course commercialisation isn't encouraged and more focus is put on building up your researching skills.

College Events

5

University is filled with events all around the year, because it is a university there are multiple departments and each department brings its own charms, you have University department of engineering with all the engineering geeks doing their nerdy fests.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's quite affordable if you are in the sciences and even in other departments including humanities. Engineering as a professional course is obviously a bit expensive but not as much as other government institutions or private colleges. There is a complete breakdown of fees at the time of admission and you submit the fees at the state bank office in the university.

Fees and Financial Aid

University doesn't need any loans if you belong to a middle-class family, most of the courses are affordable and due to a strong university student council fees isn't hiked much and even if it is you have people fighting for making education affordable for all.

Campus Life

2.5

The gender ratio is great with more female students in sciences, humanities and law. Engineering has it's struggled for equality in terms of gender but that's a long fight for them. The campus has great potential if you want to grow as a person, you get regular events such as weekly movie screening at political science, monthly book discussion by various student groups, discussions forums by different departments and obviously a dance charade going on at student centre almost every month.

Alumni/Alumna

There is a strong alumni association of the university which definitely helps if you want to get into the industry.

Admission

Admission is through an entrance test called PUCET. The entrance exam is not that hard if you have prepared for medical or JEE entrance exams. PUCET score is coupled with the 12th score with a 75% to 25% weightage respectively and based on that a new merit list is presented which offers the gateway for admission in Panjab University.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty is some of the best out there, people with top research experiences and multiple citations and publications, as a student you would get to see some of the best working professionals working and teaching you nuances of your course, some of them actually take the effort to make you think about commercialisation of sciences and make you pursue the course work with a right mindset.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Being a Science student , I loved my curriculum as it provides application parts with laboratories . I choose this course as I always wanted to learn more about science and its various fields. For me overall curriculum is good and have moderate level but I would suggest to reduce the syllabus little bit so that most of the students can learn whole syllabus Exams are being conducted regularly as per the University guidelines.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It really depends upon the course itself. A good curriculum includes preparing students for what's out there. Faculty here teaches the core concepts along with staying up to date with the trends and new technologies, it helps to connect the theory part with practicals. Therefore our course is relevant and comprehensive.
