The Best College for Engineering in Nagercoil

I appeared for the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test in Engineering during the year 2006-2007 and got nearly 75% of marks. This mark is compared with my HSC mark and a total eligibility percent is arrived for engineering cut-off and selected the best college in my district.

All the engineering disciplines got almost a common syllabus for the first year and then the subjects were fully focussed on the discipline basis from the second year. There is a common pattern for all the colleges which are affiliated to Anna University Chennai and we have to follow those. In the third year and final year we have to choose two electives of our wish. Practicals are also given high importance in our college.

There is no stipend offered for NRI's and other who seek a seat without attending certain examinations. Certain entrance examinations conducted by Tamil Nadu govt and GATE to be attended for pursuing course with stipend.

Placements during my period is about 10% as my college is located far from the capital of Tamil Nadu. Even though we have a good Placement cell they will arrange placement programs for all the students who met the eligibility criteria depending upon the placement programs.

We have cultural programs, association programs and programs related to IEEE, NCC, Sports etc. Apart from these we also have department wise educational programs and lectures and different kinds of work shops and educational tours organised by the department faculties.

If you get passed in the merit list, you will be given the advantage of that. If not then the price is high say around a lakh for NRI and around 80K for others per year.

Hostel and Mess facilities are 100% good. A shared room will be given and you will have a maximum of 3 partners to a minimum of 2 partners per room. The food is excellent and it will make you feel very much for missing it after your course.

A common alumini web site has been created and programs are organised every year for the Alumini Meet. Contacts and communications can be made through the website and email created. The new students found very helpful attending these programs.

As per Anna University pattern. Labs are excellent and the syllabus pattern is common for all the Anna university affiliated college.
