Course Curriculum Overview

4

I would rate the course curriculum as very relevant and comprehensive in terms of covering fundamental engineering concepts. The curriculum includes core subjects, laboratory sessions, and elective subjects, which provide a basic foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of the course. The presence of lab subjects, mini projects, and final year projects made me choose this course. The is room for improvement in the course curriculum by including more industry oriented subjects, updated software tools and more practical based learning rather than focusing hevaily on theory.

Placement Experience

4

Campus placements in our college usually start from 6th semester. Students are regulary trained for placements from the 1st year both in aptitude and coding skills. Certain branch students receive training specifiically in their own field Most of the students get placed in IT-service based companies like TCS,CTS,Infosys and Accenture. In recent years students have got placed for Marquee offers in big prodcut based comapnies like Autodesk, Amazon, MIcrosoft and Goldman Sachs.

Fees and Financial Aid

The detailed fee structure for the course under Management Quota is as follows. The yearly tution fee is Rs1,75,000. Additioanlly, a capitaiton fee of Rs 1,50,000 was paid at the time of admission as an one time payment. The tution fee has increased now. The yearly fee of Rs 1,75,000 includes tution fees, book fees and career development fees, Apart from this, examination fees around 4000 is paid every semester has to be paid seperately, For student admitted through Govt and other quota the fee is significantly lower.

Campus Life

3

Overall, the campus life in our college is decent and provides a balanced environment for both academics and extracurricular activities. The college conducts annual cultural and technical fests every year. The college library has a good collection of acadmic books and reference books. Classrooms are equipped with facilities like projectors and whiteboards.

Admission

I chose this college mainly because it is located very close to my home, around 15 minutes travel time, which is very convenient for daily commuting and saves both time and moeny compared to other colleges that are outside the college. Another reason for choosing this college was the feedback I received from my seniors and a few knows students who studied here. They gave a fairly positive opinion about the faculty, lab facilities and overall academic environemtn which influenced my decision.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio in our college is around 1:25, which allows fair interaction between student and faculty members. Most faculty members are approachable and willing to clarify doubts both during class hours and after class hours. The faculty-student relationship is generally friendly, and some professors are very supportive when it comes to academics, projects and career guidance. The course structure is designed as per Anna University regulations, which includes both theory and practical subjects in each semester. The curriculum is very relevant and covers the fundamental concepts required for the course, although some subjects are more theory oriented. The exam system consists of two Unit Tests, two Continuous Assessment Tests and End Semester Examinations. Internal marks are awared based on your performance in Continuous Assessment Tests, Unit Tests, Assignments and Group Presentation. The Continuous Assessment Tests are for 50 marks and ESE is for 100 marks. The exams are moderately difficult. Students who study regularly can pass without much difficulty.

Night Life

2

The nightlife around our college is generally calm and not very active. The gym and sports facilities are available untile the evening. The college cafetaria is open around evening. For hostellers the hostel in-time is usally around 8-8:30pm.

Placement Experience:

The placements at the college are Good. Also, it all depends on your talent. After the 7th semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. TCS and Appton are some of the companies that visited and gave 2 offers. The average package is Rs.22000. The percentage of students getting placements is 18%. After getting the degree I must go for an interview for selection with some It companies offered. But it is best to get the placements in college itself.

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester students can join placement training and participate in placement drives. Placement training is conducted well. Many companies come for placement drive. 99% of them are IT companies. Even other stream students get a chance only to join IT companies through placement. The core engineering companies which come to the drive requires 4 years bond which most students dislike. The placement is almost 35%. I'm trying to get into a PSU after completing the degree.
