Remarks

Overall the college is good, but in terms of infrastructure can be improved. The academic profile of every student is good so as in extra curriculars. The college supports in the students both academically as well as in extra curriculars front.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

As a mechanical engineering student i would say that it's not a piece of cake to score high marks like any other department. A heavy knowledge of understanding is required. And as far as the syllabus is concerned, it induces my skill in studying and understanding could concepts in a healthy manner. The syllabus framed is of top notch quality which would produce quality mechanical engineers for sure. The exam structure is pretty good. Internal exam's marks would be converted to 40 from a total of 100 from the beast of two exs out of three. And the remaining 10 marks would be awarded from assignments. The remaining 50 marks is to be awarded from the external exam which is of 100 marks. And there is no minimum pass marks in internals, it can be compensated by external exams. A minimum of 50 marks as a whole is required to pass the subject.

Placement Experience

5

My college boasts a whopping 91% placement in mechanical engineering. There are many core companies which come to recruit engineers. There is Saint gobain which recruits engineers right from third year with a paid internship. There are also software related companies for recruitment. As a whole, no one is left without a job unless they are willing to pursue higher studies/research.

College Events

5

There are a number of events which are quite difficult to list it out. As I'm from mechanical engineering department, let me tell about the off track racing team. There is a go-cart team and an ATV team which build their own vehicle and participate in the racing competitions. Aprst from these, cultural events are being held every even semester for individual departments and also as a whole college concerned one. There is also a symposium called tecutsav conducted by our college for other college students every even semester. There are quite a few other events too which would take pages to describe :-)

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee Structure is feasible and is affordable by people from every walks of life. There are also a number of scholarships available to support various students. The merit entery students pay the least fee as majority is paid by the government itself. Also there are self financing students who maybe a bit higher fee than the merit students. And there are management quota students who pay the highest. But that too is not too high compared with the other colleges. My college doesn't accept donations. It's of pure merit basis.

Fees and Financial Aid

I haven't availed any of the scholarships, but i can confirm my college provides a lot of scholarships which i know from my friends. And there is TVS moto corp which recruits students right from first year and they sponser the entire 4 year academic related expenses for their students.

Campus Life

3.5

There are individual teams for every sport. My college has a whopping indoor stadium which has provisions for volley ball, shuttle, and other indoor games. It was inaugurated by Australian cricketer Matthew Hayden.

Hostel Facilities

4

I'm a hosteller and in short i must say, it's a home away from home. The facilities are quite good. There is a 100mbps+ fibre WiFi connection which has no downtime no limits whatsoever. There are basic elementary facilities like light fan etc. There are facilities for hot water as well. The bathrooms are well maintained and is cleaned twice a day.

Alumni/Alumna

My college is a 62 year old historical institution and has a strong alumni network. Most of the funding is done my them and thery are of immense importance when it comes to placement. Every year alumni meet is being conducted for them and the college is benefitted from them in a huge manner.

Admission

I got into my college based on 'Merit Management quota'. Students who couldn't get admission in my college through government councelling were allowed to attend this councelling by my college. Students with cut off above 194 were eligible to apply and myself scored 194.75 and i got admission as a mechanical engineering student. Till date I'm blessed as i got admission in my college.

Faculty

5

Most of the college faculties are PhD holders and have a in depth knowledge about the subject which they handle. Some of them are with about 25+ years of experience in the field. And there are also new young guns to powe up the faculty department.
