Remarks

The college is good in terms of academics. No need to worry about the financial condition as the monthly expenses are too low if controlled. Just the college location is at a remote place outside of the city otherwise it is good. Nevertheless, there is a bus service for students.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is well designed. The syllabus for the first year is the same for all irrespective of your branch. Exams are held twice in a semester. One is midterm (30 marks) examination and other is end term(70 marks). Industrial visits are organized once in a year. Internships are also recommended in vacations.

Placement Experience

3.5

Companies that visited were 1 Honeywell 2 Reliance 3 TCS 4 Bhilosa industries 5 Convergence Most of the companies took an aptitude/technical test followed by an interview as selection criteria. Internships were part of the last semester and they were provided by the department itself to the students. Internships were at IICT Hyderabad, Garware polyesters, Aarti drugs, Vineeti chemicals etc.

College Events

4.5

Technical event: Pragyaa Various college all over Maharashtra participates in this 3 days event every year. It is a very thrilling experience. Students can also join the organising committee to learn management skills. Cultural event: Utsav The Utsav is also a 3 day event and it is organised on the same 3 days of pragyaa. Pragyaa takes place in day time and Utsav in the evening. Notable Marathi celebrities are invited as chief guest for the function in 3 days. Sports event: Zenith This is also a 3 day event and teams all over Maharashtra participate in this event. A marathon is also conducted at the mid of January every year. Games include cricket, basketball, football, volleyball, kabbadi, tabletennis, chess etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

At our time for the general category, it was 65k. For OBC category it was 30k. And for SC/ST category it was mere 3k. So it is affordable. The living expenses for the month are extremely less compared to other metropolitan cities. The college provides transparency in fees as in it provides all the detailed fee structure at the time of admission.

Fees and Financial Aid

Various Scholarships are available and they are informed to students by mail well before time. So if you are eligible you can apply for the same. Scholarships include: Central scholarship OBC scholarship SC/ST scholarship Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj scholarship Deshmukh scholarship.

Campus Life

3.5

The infrastructure is pretty good compared to other government colleges. The sports facilities are immense. You have a basketball court, football ground, volleyball courts, table tennis halls, badminton courts. The library and reading hall is good. Various workshops are regularly conducted on weekends. There are various student groups active in organising various events all over the year. Overall the atmosphere is good to pursue your degree.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni meet is held every year at the time of Christmas. Interactions between students take place. Also, some alumni meet students in between to help them. There are also some scholarships funded purely by alumni for needy students.

Admission

I had an interest in chemical engineering so I choose this branch. It is an autonomous govt aided college that makes it a priority for most of the students. Your percentile calculated by weightage of jee mains and 12 board is considered as the valid score. Then CAP rounds are held. If you get sggs college then you need to visit and pay the required fees to confirm your seat.

Faculty

3.5

Total of 6-7 lectures of 1 hour each including labs of 2 hours was held every day except on weekends. The teachers are good in their expertise and are really helpful if any need arises. Some of them had 4-5 years of industry experience and thus were successful in imparting practical knowledge to the students.
