Remarks

The college is very very good and the infrastructure is pretty good the faculty which the students have is some of the best in the University itself.the facilities and lab and extra curricular activities which held in this college helps the students to improve their social life and their skills too. Onlu thing which we can find slightly negative is the college is very much strict.the faculties and the college is very strict.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The alvas college is currently affiliated to the Mangalore University and the course carriculam will be as instructed by the university. The exam is also conducted by the Mangalore University and it will be public exam. There will be 2 internal exams and a main semester exam in each semester.

Placement Experience

4

The placement test which is conducted in our college is one of the bighest and best placement camps. the name of our placement camp is Pragathi and many students from and outside our college comes for that. it create many job opportunities and many leading companies like Infosys comes here to take part of it and our college provides intership for students from under graduate level itself.

College Events

3.5

When coming to events. I can say that our college is the best college in conducting events. A special 3 day event called Nudisiri is conducted royally and people all over the state comes here to take part of it. The next grand event is Alvas Virasat and many famous personalities comes here to join. Traditional day is another one, students from various states and countries show up and performs their traditional art forms.when comes to independance day and republic day , we conduct the largest public gathering in the country after the Delhi redfort. Then there are separate events for students from each state like kerlaleeyam , Manipur fest etc

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure of over college is pretty feasible. The fee structure differs in respect to courses. The college provide an adoption scheme for those who showed their excellence in academics, cultural and sports events. We get the best education in lowest fees here.

Fees and Financial Aid

They are providing many scholarship facilities in our college and the main one is adoption scheme. Those students which show off their excellence in acadamics, cultural activities or sports will be adopted and they need not have to pay the college fees. It'll be done by the college itself and they only have to pay the University fee which is very very low.

Campus Life

3.5

In the case of extra curricular activities ,sports and the lab facilities the college stands top position. Because the students are very much and encouraged in cultural and sports activities. They provide the best lab facilities and their instructors.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel infrastructure is pretty good. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. There are many hostels for students in our college but when come to food , it depends on the students from different states. The students may find some difficulties to adjust with the food here which they provide in Karnataka style.

Alumni/Alumna

The Senior students network is very very helpful for the students who is currently studying here because for the assignments or for internships or the doubts , the juniors prefers to go to senior students. Because seniors are very much friendly with the junior students so that they can go to senior for any kind of help

Admission

We can go directly to the college and apply for the course which we are going to join. They will provide the application form and we've to fill it. Then we've to meet principal and he'll provide a lecturer for briefing about the course and the structure of education. And if we are interested , we can apply the application and the admission criteria will be depends on the course which we need to join. If we are eligible for the course ,we will get the confirmation and we can join the college

Faculty

4

The faculty of our college can be said as one of the best faculties available in Mangalore University. As a result our rate of University ranks increased in past years. most of the faculties are well experienced.

The students are eligible to sit for placement in their final years. The companies which comes for the placement are deloitte, goldmanSachs, amazon and many more reputed companies. And they do make many offers. The highest package reports around 30 LPA and the average goes on around 3 to 4.5 LPA. Around 70-90 percent get placements. My plans is to pursue higher studies.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements towards the final semester of their course. Currently, I have only been using the help of my faculty for internship opportunities, since I am not looking for placements. But they have connections with big names in the communication sector, and they often have personalities coming in to give talks and interact with the students. A great number of students opt for placements and approximately 90% of them do end up getting posted at really good companies. Others choose to continue with higher education. My plan after receiving my degree would be to take up a diploma in literature in the UK, while simultaneously finding myself a position at a good publishing house there.

Placement Experience:

From my seniors, I hear that 20/30 % of students from our college get placed. But now being in my final sem I know the reality. For covid and lockdown, the placement sector has been badly hit. Only a handful of companies came this year (5/6 companies). 4/5 people from our batch are placed but no placement for the big chunk of people. From 5th sem students become eligible for placements but in 5th sem, no company came to our college for placement this year. Only in the 6th sem, the placement cell started. Companies that visited till now ( some of them came to take interns and didn't offer full-time jobs) 1) Clevertize, 2) Social Panga, 3) Robert Bosch GmbH, 4) Saatchi & Saatchi, 5) Publicis, 6)PR Pundit, 7) McKinsey, 8) Edsol Edtech, 9) Momo Media, 10) MSL, 11) Genesis BC, Offers: 1.5-3 LPA (average). I plan to send CVs personally to companies through LINKEDIN and other job search platforms because the college hasn't provided us with good placement offers as claimed.
