Remarks
KIIT University is a heaven on earth for students. I would suggest. Please do apply for this university if you are interested and you won't regret. The only bad part, it's a private University. And people don't realize it's worth saying it's not a government University so they won't be able to provide jobs. It's a myth. Infrastructure and exposure wise this university is the best.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very well planned. It is very rigorous which remains consistent throughout the 10 semesters. There's 5 mandatory subjects. With 2 core lab and 1 extra lab or extra subject. From 7 semester there's an option to select elective subjects as well. The exam structure follows Bloom's taxonomy i.e the toughest questions remain in the last section and the level of hardness increases through every section. There's a mid sem of 30 marks. Internals of 20 marks which depends upon faculty, when he/she will conduct or maybe it will evaluated as assignment. And then there's an end sem of 50 marks. There will be lab exams and viva voce as well of 100 marks.
Placement Experience
The placements are very good. The facilities out here train you from scratch on how to give a good interview, how to present yourself, how to write a good résumé, and how to prepare. Almost everyone gets placed in this university. Yes KIIT provides internship. The overall experience was very satisfying. KIIT does not provide paid internship.
College Events
There's no shortage of events that are celebrated in KIIT. From a local Odia festival to halloween. Everything is celebrated. Durga Puja, Saraswati Puja, Ganesh Puja, Laxmi Puja, Diwali, Holi, Christmas, New Year, NSS Week and many many more. There's no dearth of celebration in KIIT. KIIT Fest is the dedicated college fest where big celebrities come to perform over a span of 3 days. And there's many more events from several clubs in KIIT which take place year round.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is feasible. But many students go for student loans to pay out their college fees. But one thing is for sure. The infrastructure of KIIT University is worth every penny you spend. The foreign exposure, all the industry conclaves, seminars and what not, make it a heaven for a student willing to study.
Fees and Financial Aid
If you maintain 10CGPA, you will get Rs. 15000/- as scholarship. And if you rank within 500 in KIITEE then you are supposed to get a scholarship for academic fees. Many people prefer to take student loans as well. But the infrastructure is worth the money spent.
Campus Life
Labs are excellent. You get every sort of equipment and conduct your work in a smooth way. Extracurricular activities also are motivated here. There are several clubs in each department dedicated to acting, singing, writing, social work, teaching, painting. Sports is a very good option here. There's a separate campus for sports and inbuilt sports centre in every campus. Ranji trophy matches are held in the KIIT Cricket stadium.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel infrastructure is good with clean rooms and washroom. The rooms and washroom are cleaned by maids every day. The food is also good. And of course there is full security of students. The hostels are tobacco and alcohol free.
Alumni/Alumna
Very helpful. They are always there to clear your doubts, to assist you and provide you the best solutions. They are more friendly rather than imposing their senior status on juniors. Absolutely no hard feelings among the group of students.
Admission
I got my admission through KIITEE. The only entrance exam for KIIT University. The entrance exam is different for Biotechnology, Engineering, nursing i.e different for each department. Then if you clear the exam, you are called for a counseling process and then if you make it through the counseling, you come for the orientation and your college life begins.
Faculty
The faculty of our college are very good. They are well educated with degrees from famous institutions. They have their own lab works as well. We can opt to work under them as well. They provide an in depth view of the subjects they teach. They teach both from books and slides and they provide an easy way of teaching so that we understand each and everything. They are always there to clear our doubts. They are very very helpful and love to be there for us.
