Honest Review on my College

Life in Goa College of Engineering in very sweet and tough also. With the campus making students to learn new things, making new invention. The college also provide transportation from campus to nearest bus stop. The faculty are very good and supportive. The overall experience in the college is extremely good.

In Four years of engineering there are total of 8 semesters. Each semester are having duration of 6 months including exams, viva and extra curricular. In my opinion course curriculum is well balanced with every subject linked with each other. In the exam structure we have two or three internal exams of 25 marks each plus practical and viva of 25 marks and final semester exam of 100 marks.

Placement are offered during final year of Engineering. Placement are based on marks scored during first three years. And also companies have their own entrance test, group discussion and personal interview. Job opportunities are minimum, as companies select only two or three students. Yes College do provide internship in the second and third year of Engineering for an period of 1 month. During internship companies give brief knowledge about their product, protocol and other things. They also give hands on machine for better learning. The overall experience is very good. The stipend during internship is roughly between 10k to 15k.

Events celebrated in our college are Tandav which is an inter-branch event, Sparxx is an inter college technical event and Happenings is an inter college cultural event. Along with that our college also celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali, Dandiya, Dahi Handi etc.

Being an semi government College, the fees here is very feasible and economical for all the students. The college also give concession for economically backward students. The fees are to be paid during each semester which includes both semester fees, tuition waiver fees, hostel fees and exam fees. Moreover the college is very economical in terns of fee structure.

Yes our college do give scholarship and loan for economically backward students. Even they refund 50% of fees during each semester for students having annual income less than 1 lakh of rupees. The college is linked with banks for providing study loan during the course of period.

Extracurricular includes football, cricket and other sports along with singing, dancing competition. We have our own playground, stage and auditorium for performing those activities with full support from our faculty and college.

Yes i have opted for hostel. Hostel infrastructure is very good, with rooms corridore, toilets and mess well maintained. During the initial three years the rooms are shared by three or four people and in the final year we get a single person room. Facilities provided by hostel are bed, bedsheets, hot water for bathing, concession on food fees in mess etc.

Yes the alumni and senior students gives us guidance about the course and also opportunities after completion big the course. Also helping with their notes and project. And helping in professional career.

First we have to answer Goa Comman Entrance Test. Based on marks scored in test, merit list is prepared and according to the merit list engineering branches are allocated. Then counseling is done for students to opt their desired engineering field

In our Mechanical engineering department we have highly experienced faculty. Many of them having doctorate in their respective fields. The faculty here are very supportive and make understand the concept very well and help in being an asset for the society and the country.
