Course Curriculum Overview

Each branch has its own different curriculum. In 1st year as there is option of branch sliding so each branch has same course. From 2nd year onwards each branch has its own different curriculum. Though exam structure of is every branch is same but internal exams structure might vary. There is a mid sem and end sem in each semester along with internals and lab vivas.

Placement Experience

For placements and internships there is a training and placement cell which invites companies to visit our college to provide job offers. Almost every branch has 90%+ placement. Topping the list is cs branch. Every ever lots of vs companies visit nit jsr. Core branch also doesn't lag behind.

College Events

There are many fests in nit jsr namely Ojass, Culfest, Urja related to techical, cultural and sports fest respectively. These fest helps in over all development. Also each branch too have their own fests in which many events are organised.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is bit on higher sides. Fee depends upon category of students. General students with house income above 5 lac have to pay whole fee. SC and st students have complete fee remission. Obc student with income less than 5 lac have 2/3 remission.

Fees and Financial Aid

Siemens Scholarship It is a scholarship for btech students 1st year in IITs & NITs. Candidate's family income must be below 2 Lacs per annum. Students are awarded with Siemens Scholarship throughout four years of BTech

Campus Life

Extracurricular Activities Playing sports in an organized competitive association. Participating in outdoor activities (rock climbing) informal practices (volleyball, basketball) and physical fitness training (swimming). Supporting various organizations or humanitarian causes throughout the year. Visiting and participating in activities in retirement homes. Member of yoga club Gardening

Admission

Rank in jee mains decides branch that would be alloted. After that josaa counselling is there.Admission is done through counseling conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) based on JEE Main Ranking

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

According to my perspective or point of view students initiate preparing for placement cells in 3rd year ( 5th semester). The highest package of our college is 14 LPA And average package is 3.4 LPA. Approx 72 %students got placed in different different companies like tcs, wipro, accenture etc.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
