Avantika Dogr's Review On National Institute Of Nursing Education- [NINE], Chandigarh

Our college is very good located in very prime location. We get student health facility when we are ill at Nehru Hospital. PGIMER has a central library and even NINE has its own library with various journals,books and research papers. Training for students and teachers is provided by Visakha program.

College provides many short term courses with the degree. We have a compulsory 5 hours clinical work everyday in Nehru Hospital. 500 stipend is paid to all students monthly, for BSc nursing students. A bond to serve PGIMER or any central govt hospitals for 3years if offered to students can sign it. 4 month pediatric nursing short term course. 3 month obst. and Gynecologist course in collaboration with WHO.

We celebrate many events in our college. Annual sports day, welcome party, various festivals, farewell party, freshers party, FETE and sales, etc are conducted by our college time to time. College give us opportunity to participate in these events and show our talents.

Fees for BSc nursing course is Rs.6035. As it is a government college the fees very low and anyone can afford to pay the fee. Fee of our college is very flexible. There is no extra fee to be payable. It even includes examination fee.

College do not provide any kind of scholarship but we are provided by stipend. I don't think any loan facility is required as the fees is minimum and anyone can afford it. Even if anyone wants to take loan can apply to many banks providing it. But college do not provide any loan facility.

Sports facilities are provided for all students to keep them fit. Amalgamated fund is used for this. Labs are very good with modern facilities. We have NSS in our college through which we do many social activities, we have an adopted village Sarangpur.

Hostel facilities are available only for BSc nursing 4 years course. Hostel is provided based on seniority and First Come First basis. Hostel fees is 1700 per year including electricity. 1500 refundable fee and 2000 for hostel fund on admission. Hostel is only for girls. Infrastructure of the hostel is very good and many facilities are provided inside our hostel.

We have good alumni network. They are placed in various Central government hospitals and many are pursuing their Masters. Are senior are very friendly and we take their guidance during our clinical work hours in hospital. Our seniors also help us for notes and solving problems.

I got admission to the Bsc Nursing course which is of 4 years by entrance exam. There are total of 90 seats +3 seats for PWD Candidates. A candidate should have atleast 55% in 10+2 to apply for this college. Bsc Nursing 4 year, Msc, Post basic Bsc and Bsc 2year are the courses available in our institute.

Faculty of this institute are very good. They help us solving all our problem, they help us solving our problem during the compulsory clinical work hours in Nehru Hospital. They are very supportive and we get good guidance from them which help us to correct our mistakes. There are total 43 faculty in our institute.
