Best Girls' college in Lakhimpur

I completed my B.Sc Botany from Lakhimpur Girls' College. I had a wonderful experience either it being the academics for which I worked hard or the cooperation of teachers in teaching us with their utter dedication or the time spent in fun activities at college events. The college is also accredited with 'A" grade by NAAC in recent years, earlier it was graded 'B'. The college had really progressed a lot and have been progressing. I liked this quality of my college.

The college is affiliated to Dibrugarh University, and strictly follows its prescribed syllabus and guidelines drafted by it. The syllabus consists of 2 core, 2 additional and 2 elective subjects through the whole course duration. Examinations are held on a semester basis, apart of it college also holds internal examinations on a regular basis.

The college has a dedicated Career Counselling Cell which is mostly responsible with guiding the brilliant of minds of the college and is integrated with most well-reputed career counsellors. The college also hosts multiple seminars, mock interviews, soft skills, communicative English, phonetic exercises, personality development, alumni interaction events and mock interviews to help students learn and understand their way to success and prepare for interview selections of companies and also to gain insights regarding companies and job life from the alumni placed in some of the well-known companies. The cell is also well-equipped with latest various sources of study materials like competitive books, magazines and newspapers.

The entire course fee for my B.Sc. Botany was 20,000 which is quite feasible for the facilities provided by the college to the students. The fee is feasible so that most women can get educated and become self-dependent, which is one of college's vision.

The college offers scholarships based on the merit of students in a particular or overall highest aggregate. National Merit Scholarship and State Merit Scholarship are also supported by this college. Other students can also apply for the state or district scholarships for which they are eligible. The college has well-equipped central library for students will all necesarry books needed by students during their course duration. The college also have digital classrooms, to help students understand the hardest of the topics easily and help teachers give their lectures with more productivity.

The college has a good hostel for girls adjacent to it with capacity of almost 160 students with spacious and well maintained rooms. The seats in hostel also are alloted on a merit basis. The application form for availing hostel facility can be filled anytime and is available from college office.

I got admission in Lakhimpur Girls' College for B.Sc. Botany on basis of my 12th aggregate, I had scored 92%. The admission is on a merit basis, a merit list is prepared. My name was selected and I was called for a brief interview and to carry on my admission further for B.Sc Botany in the college. There is also reservation for SC/ST and OBC, also the tea garden employee’s quota, sports and music quota for admission in various courses are also available. Exceptional students can apply to the principal directly.

The college faculty of Botany is quite experienced, well-qualified and knowledgeable in their respective subjects they teach. They always had a calm attitude towards students with queries and others too. Most of the faculty here are quite strict regarding academics and always tried to help us have our all queries and doubts be cleared. The faculty of the college is very supportive.
