When i came to JKLU, I could not believe that i have landed in the place i always to be in.

The syllabus at JKLU is very engrossing and involving. There are days when I have sat with my team the whole night in the common room to solve the project and get the editing of documentary finished. There are a lot out of classroom learning which help us grow and enhance our skill set. We have center of communication and critical thinking which help us with improving of our verbal and writing skills which are very necessary to thrive in this competitive world. We are also encouraged to come up with our won startup ideas which then later nourished by the Atal Incubation Centre (AIC) of our university. AIC is very helpful the students of the stream which an idea is always at the intersection of technology, management and business (courses taught at JKLU).

The placement season in JKLU begins in October, that is the time when most of the students list their preferences for the companies that they want to get into. The number of companies that visit the university are more than 120 in number. They range from startups to the already well established MNC’s. Many reputed companies like Maruti Suzuki, LG, Mahindra, L&T, ICICI, vivo etc. hire the students. It also be noted that some students who plan to drop from the placement drive are encouraged to apply for freelancing and internships. This is to make sure that the young generation participates in the economy of the nation. We have many resume and cover letter workshops conducted by the external experts and we can also seek guidance from the center of communications and critical thinking of JKLU. This is great help for those who have to build their resume from scratch and do not know anything about the resume building. A good resume is the first and the most important step towards landing in the dream job.

there are lot of events which are celebrated in the university campus. we have number of startup masterclasses by the professionals who help us understand how to set up your own startup from the scratch. We also have lectures by the profs from the top foreign universities of the world.

I paid around 3 lakh for the course. during the course, I needed some financial assistance so the university provided me with a part-time job on campus which was very helpful and i did not have to ask my parents for money. This also made feel very empowering

The university tries its best to help students who need financial help and this is done by providing need and merit-based scholarships.

The University has its own teams of the different sports played- such as cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, kabaddi tec. If you want your students to be active in sports with that comes the responsibility of providing for the infrastructure that is required to play these games. The grounds for all these games maintained very diligently and the supplied with water at regular intervals and there is sufficient growth of grass on the grounds (they are also mowed from time to time depending on the season and growth). Most the students spend their time in the grounds where we play variety of sports and sweat it out to maintain good health.

For me happiness is all about-free Wi-Fi! In our hostel rooms we have free WIFI services. This help me to watch movies on Netflix and Hotstar or amazon prime. Apart from having all the fun uses of WIFI, we use the WIFI for assignments and searching more information about our course and completing online courses from foreign universities. We also get good WIFI connection in the lawns which are right outside our hostels. during winters we sit in the sun in the lawns and work on laptops; whereas during summers we sit under the shade of the trees (there are plenty of trees in JKLU). The lawns also have cute little benches.

Most of the students of JKLU stay on campus as the campus life is very vibrant and active. Many of the profs also stay on campus with their families. This gives us an opportunity to interact with the prof late at night while taking a walk around the campus after dinner. Such a setting allows us to have informal conversations which prove to be very fruitful because these are the occasions when we get to understand where are going in life, how we can evolve as an individual. This is like involuntary personal mentoring. Profs share a lot about their academic and professional struggles how they dealt with life as and when it came to them. This gives us a lot of insights into adult life and prepares us for challenges that lay ahead in life.
