Remarks
Positive - It's a reputated college with golden history. Wherever you go as an identity of Jecian , you always gets respect bcoz seniors are really spread all over the world and made people proud. Huge campus with historical labs setup and instruments. Fees are very nominal and no extra expenses for any sort of events. College takes care of things. Negative- Faculties should be increased and lectures should be conducted properly. Infrastructure and maintainence should be developed. Rest all is great.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course Curriculum is very structured and helpful. There are good labs with historical instrument. Since it's a government college,you can't expect much from faculty but nobody also stops you from going to labs. One can take ownership to go to labs and get max out of it.
Placement Experience
Placements and job opportunities are great. Many MNC and core company comes every year. Jec is a reputated college and TPO really works hard to get the max companies each year. Internships are not provided. One can do it by your own, faculties provides the required approval.
College Events
We have cultural, sports events throughout the year. Various hackathons are also organized. When I was in college, I enjoyed events like Aureole and Helix. It's great fun and learning. There were events like "Build a business" which really motivated students to get up their ideas in front of great person who also supported students with funds in building their business if idea was great.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It's very feasible. It's a government college, fees are always very nominal. Sc /st /obc get great discount in fees. Infact education is free for SC/St students. For general category also it's quite Nominal and affordable alike private colleges.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are many facilities. Free education for SC/ST category students along with all the required material like copy , pen ,pencil, engg drawing stationary. Also free education for students whose parents have Green Card. 50% fees for OBC category. Only general category has to give full fees.
Campus Life
They are also great. We have basketball, football court inside college campus. Labs are great with all historical machines and equipment. There are various sports events throughout the year, like hostel vs localities . Or between different branches.
Hostel Facilities
Naah, I was a localite. No idea about college hostel. There were many BH (boys hostel) and GH(girls hostel). As I was a locality, I have no idea about inside infrastructure of hostel. All I know is students used to organize various events at hostel level also to have great fun along with studies.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes, alumni are really helpful. They are ready to provide funds, organize sessions for students. They also come in annual events to motivate students. Seniors are also helpful. They help us with notes and study materials. Guide us for exam, campus preparation.
Admission
Firstly you need to appear for JEE (joint entrance exam) which is conducted every year. Then on the basis of score counselling happens. You can fill your choice of college when counselling starts. Then results are announced .There are 2 rounds of allotment and then a final CLC (college level counselling). I got admission by CLC round.
Faculty
To be very true, it's a government college, so you can't expect all the faculty on the floor for every lecture daily. But yes faculties are really talented. It's again on students to approach them and get the best of them.
