Remarks
I'd give this college a 10/10 for the excellent Faculty and Facilities they have for the students. The infrastructure is word class and the labs are equipped with the latest cutting edge technology to help students get their hands on the practical stuff apart from the theoretical syllabus.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course and curriculum was quite outdated to be honest. But the teachers would go an extra mile to teach the students real world solutions and skills required to land a job.The exam structure was pretty straight forward. We had to appear in the semester examination. The passing marks in theory were 40/100.
Placement Experience
The placements & job opportunities were limited at that time. As the college was newly established and is located at a remote location (60km from the nearest big city), a very few companies would visit for placement opportunities.
College Events
There were fresher and farewell parties, teacher day, tech fests and occasional cultural and sports events organised by the college and the students.Students with subjects like GSED (Generic Skills and Entrepreneurship Development) were given assignments to organise events.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure was inexpensive. As the college is run by the state Government, their were several programs of tuition fee waiver for students with poor financial conditions. The fee for the girls was half of what it was for boys.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
I just know about the tuition fee waiver scheme for students with low family income (under 2 lakhs per annum). There was also a fee concession for girls.
Campus Life
There were sports meets organised every semester. It used to be interested college sports meets were 15 colleges would compete in different field sports, track events, athletics and cultural activities (dancing, singing etc.).
Hostel Facilities
I didn't opt for hostel as there is no hostel facility available for boys. There only a girl's hostel. From what I know from my classmates who were hostlers, it was pretty good in terms of hygiene and the food was good too.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors were really very helpful. I still am in touch with most of them. They would help us with our studies, share their notes and insights with us on several subjects. The would also help us in participating in extra curricular activities like sports and other events.
Admission
I cracked ther required entrance exam called PAT (Polytechnic Entrance Exam) conducted by the HP Tech Board. There after I went for the counseling and got a seat in this campus for the diploma in Computer Science and Engineering program.
Faculty
The college faculty is very knowledgeable and very helpful. The teachers would go an extra mile to help students with their academic problems as well as would teach them for skills in demand to land a job.We have had extra classes several times where we would revise important topics and there were 2 house tests conducted each semester.
