Remarks

At the time of admission the do many fake promoses be aware of that. Those promises are only for advertisement. Overall experience is average. College management is bad they asking for mony clearance everytime.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

Course curriculum is not good because they follow BPUT rule. In bput they focus only on subjective knowledge not for practical knowledge. Here exam is in semester pattern. Every year their is 2 semester so in 4 yeara their is 8 semester.

Placement Experience

1

Here placement are for every branch but in reality their is good placement only for Computer Science Engineering. Bhut in core branch their is no placement. Those company are come for Core placement they are not good to join.

College Events

1.5

Every indian event is celibrated in college. Apart from this every Saturday their is a musical night arranged by students of different year and branch. Sports event is organised in the month of February.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is good but they need total yearly course fee at the time of admission or at he time of registration for new season. So be care full they whennit time for admission. What ever college alway think about mony.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, their is no scholarship is offering by the college. But their is loan facility, by taking an approved document from college you apply for the lone in bank. So only lone facility is their nothing elase.

Campus Life

2.5

Every thursday is hobby day, their student learn different things by their own from a trainer at free of hobby like sports, dance, song, drawing, robotics, animation, editing, java, c etc. These activities are not so good.

Hostel Facilities

2

Yes, hostel is in the college campus both for boys and girls separately. For boys their is separate hostel according to the year. The hostel room contain 3 bed, 3 table, 3 chair and selfs and a attached bathroom.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is not so strong but everyone is in touch with eachother not with college. They arr helpful in some times but not helpful in must of time. So this is all about the college, choose your college wisely.

Admission

I got admission throw JEE Main. According to jee main score, you have to fill the form. And lock your choice by going through a choice locking process. Then wait for the result of choice locking. But their is a twist dont worry about your selection, contact to collect authority they will look after all this.

Faculty

3

Faculty are good but according to the college policy the are not supporting the students most of time. But they teach well. When considering Non teaching faculty smost of them are good and supporting but some ozf them are very rude to students.

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIIT Bhubaneswar are generally good and improving, especially for students who stay consistent with coding, projects, and internships. In my college, students usually become eligible for campus placements from around the 7th semester (4th year), while many students start getting internship opportunities and pre-placement offers from the 5th–6th semester itself depending on skills. Every year, companies from the software and IT domain visit the campus for roles like Software Developer / SDE, QA, Analyst, Web Developer, and sometimes Data-related roles, and students also get offers through off-campus applications. Some of the common recruiters include companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture, along with product/startup opportunities depending on the year, and multiple students receive more than one offer as well. The highest package and average package vary every year and depend a lot on branch, performance, and market conditions, but overall the college provides decent placement support and training sessions like aptitude, DSA guidance, and interview preparation. The placement percentage is also fairly good for students who actively participate in the placement process, while the rest generally go for higher studies or off-campus roles. After completing my degree, my plan is to either secure a good software developer role through campus/off-campus and build experience, or if I feel more interested academically, I may prepare for higher studies or competitive exams along with improving my skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University - [SOA], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.
