Remarks
The Institute of Hotel Management is affiliated to the NCHMCT. The college is located in the heart of Guwahati. The college helped us in internship and the placement process, which helped in shaping my career. I have only IHM to thank for where I am right now.
Entrance Preview
The exam consisted of 7 theory exams and 5 practical exams. The term end marks comprised of 70% final marks and 30% of mid term marks.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum had a proper balance of theory and practical classes. The syllabus not only covered the topics from hotel management discipline, but also from the operations and food processing domain
Placement Experience
The placement is really good. 95% of students got the placement in good hotels like Oberoi grand, Taj Bengal, Leela Palace, Marriott, Barbeque Nation, DLF and many more and many of them got MT. The salary offered is based on the department and profile of the students.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The first year fee is a little over 1 lacs which is quite nominal as per the industry standards. The college has fully air conditioned classrooms and labs. The overall infra is good.
Campus Life
The campus has a nice view and the buildings are also good. The classrooms and labs are fully air-conditioned and digital. The students were all cooperative and friendly. Ragging is prohibited in college campus and hostel premises.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel rooms are fine. Most of the rooms are triple sharing. Although, the warden is strict and the washrooms are not ideal from the point of view of hygiene. The mess food is good.
Admission
The admission is on the basis of common counseling conducted by the NCHMCT. I got a seat in the college in the final merit list. Afterwards, the documentation process was the final step. The administration was quite supportive and flexible. They gave me time since I didn’t have my class 12 degrees with me during admission
Faculty
The teachers are helpful and qualified. The teaching quality is excellent. Mostly projectors are used for teaching. The faculty provides notes which are sufficient for scoring good marks. The practical classes are quite informative.
