IHM Guwahati after spending 3 years here

Institute of Hotel Management college is a core hotel management college, offering degree courses and certificate diploma courses. I did my UG from IHM. Overall the college is good for graduation only. The Placement package could be a little better.

Our schedule consisted of a mix of both theory and practical classes every week. From building the foundation for learning all the etiquettes of the professional jobs, the syllabus and classes covered it all.

Although, the placement is more than 90%, the package offered is not that good. The average salary offered is Rs. 30k/month. Companies like Mcdonalds, Bikaner, Taco Bell, Lemon Tree, etc., visited the campus. Most of us also got an internship through the college itself.

We celebrated Sports day, teachers day, yoga day, world tourism day and many cultural fest as well.

IHM charges very high fees for a basic graduation course. The entire three years course will cost you around 3.5 Lacs, which could be less. There are no scholarship plans for students from general category.

Scholarship is provided to candidates from reserved categories under Govt. of India Post Matric Scholarship scheme.

The campus had a nice architectural design. Well-equipped laboratory facilities with labs of Food production, Bakery & Confectionery, Front office, Food & Beverage and Housekeeping. Apart from that there are a lot of industries near the college building, thus the environment around here is quite polluted.

You have to clear the entrance test in order to get admission to the B.Sc. program. Along with that you must have all the relevant documents of class 12.
