The academic life at IIT Madras is decent with very learned professors imparting heaps of wisdom and knowledge.

IIT Madras hostel facilities are mediocre but you will adapt to them after a while.
Internet facilities are available 24/7 except late at night and during academic hours (though always available in departments)
There are a lot of monkeys inside the campus so you need to be careful
IIT Madras campus has a decent working swimming pool
There are usually no connectivity issues throughout the campus

Life at IIT Madras can also be felt real-time and no description can do justice to the experience.
