The campus life at NIE Mysore is quite engaging, especially for students in the Bachelor of Engineering (Information Science & Engineering) program. We have an annual fest called Technieks that is held in April or May, and there are various clubs like IEEE and GDSC that organize events throughout the year. The campus is equipped with a good library that has a wide range of books, and we can also access an e-library. Sports are encouraged, and there are many opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities. Overall, it's a decent environment for both academics and social interactions.

Campus life at NIE Mysore for the Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Science and Engineering) students is pretty lively, though it could be better. We have Technieks as our main annual fest, which is not as grand as some other colleges, but still a great way to showcase talents. There are clubs like Onyx and IEEE that keep us engaged with tech-related activities.

The library is quite good, with access to many resources. However, I wish there were more events and activities to break the academic monotony.

Let's dive into the vibes at NIE Mysore.

First, a bit about its roots. NIE Mysuru has a rich history, thanks to some visionary people. One key person is Sri S. Ramaswamy, who was born in 1888 and passed away in 1958. He was a retired Superintending Engineer with the Mysore Public Works Department and got special praise from the then Maharaja of Mysore, Sri Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar. He also served as the first Principal of NIE.

Now, about the college itself. The National Institute of Engineering, located in Mysore, Karnataka, India, kicked off in 1946. It became autonomous in 2007 but remains linked with Visvesvaraya Technological University.

As for what you can study there, here are some of the undergraduate courses available:

  • Electrical and Electronics Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Computer Science and Engineering
  • Electronics and Communication Engineering
  • Industrial Production and Engineering
  • Information Science and Engineering

That's a quick snapshot of what NIE Mysore is like.

Campus life at NIE Mysore is quite nice. While the campus isn't as large as some other colleges, it has all the basics you need, including two coffee shops and a canteen. Your experience really comes down to the friends you make. You'll meet folks from all over India, which is pretty cool. It might feel a bit overwhelming at first, but you'll get used to it, and soon it'll be easier. The small size of the campus makes it easy to connect with students from different departments. Good luck!

It's fantastic! You'll make lots of friends from different states and get to know their languages and cultures. RIE is packed with cultural and sports events all year round. When it comes to the curriculum and teaching, RIE stands out compared to other B.Ed colleges. It's the top choice for those aiming to be teachers. You'll get a good job offer with a nice salary in international schools right on campus. There are semester trips and an all-India tour in the final year. The fees at RIE are quite affordable, and they're upgrading the facilities. The hostel food is decent for the price, and there's free WiFi in the hostel. You'll really miss RIE life after you graduate!
