(The branch-wise placement stats for IIT Bombay are not present)
Both IIT Bombay and IIT Guwahati are highly renowned engineering colleges. However, IIT Bombay ranks much higher on a national and global ranking scale.
Moreover, IIT Bombay is located in the Financial Capital of India. This allows its students a much higher industry exposure. Additionally, Bombay has easy connectivity to major cities like Bengaluru, which further benefits its students.
Because of these reasons, I would recommend you choose the 5-year Electrical Engineering course at IIT Bombay over B.Tech CSE at IIT Guwahati.
I always find comparing two branches very illogical because the entire purpose of branches is to cater to the interests of different people. One stream might be good for you but not for the other and vice versa.
An electrical engineer works with impressive technologies like microprocessors or communication systems. A computer engineer on the other hand achieves great things through his computer. It’s better to read about machine learning classification.
Some students prefer judging colleges on the basis of the kind of environment they offer. Both IIT Bombay and IIT Guwahati have a great academic environment and offer excellent exposure. Both the colleges are good in all aspects like placements, location, and academics. Don’t follow the trends and standards set by society and follow what your heart says!
