Which one should I opt for: IIT Kanpur or IIT Madras?

Both IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras are excellent engineering institutes offering superior quality education and opportunities. Yet, a few points to older at before choosing one over the other are

• Infrastructure: IIT Madras has better natural beauty, dear, with black bucks and monkeys being a common sight. Its infrastructure is also better than IIT Kanpur,
• Hostels: InIIT Kanpur, you are initially allotted a triple occupancy room in the first share, then a double occupancy room in the second year, and finally a single room in the 3rd year. IIT Madras on the other hand slots single rooms right from the 2nd year.
• Food: The quality and price of food offered are better at IIT Kanpur than at IIT Madras, especially for North Indian food lovers. There are many canteens providing food at subsidiary rates and the mess food is also better than at IIT Madras.
• Academics: Although infamous for its tough grading system, IIT Kanpur does not have the compulsory attendance rule like IIT Madras. Also, branches can be changed after the 3rd semester in IITBKanpur whereas in IIT Madras branch change happens right after the first semester.
• Sports: Both IIT Kanpur and Madras have excellent sports facilities and you can find a variety of games here Tennis/badminton racket, skates, etc). The only difference is that at IIT Kanpur, sports equipment is issued to students while at IIT Madras, you have to purchase it.

Both are excellent choices it’s only a matter of preference.
