IT in SGSITS is better than CSE in IET DAVV. It is older and more recognized in the industry. It has an excellent student crowd. The environment on campus is competitive.
SGSITS placements are great for IT, due to the legacy of the institute. The median CTC of the branch is INR 5 LPA. L&T Infotech, ZS Associates India Pvt. Ltd., and Adani Group are some of the major recruiters for the branch.
I would like to highlight a few points in favor of choosing IT at NIT Surathkal-
Thus, based on these factors, I would recommend you choose IT at NIT Surathkal over CS at RVCE Bangalore.
The quality of Education, the faculty pool, and even the lab facilities offered at both IITs are similar. There might be slight differences as far as internships are concerned because the top companies with coding profiles visit both IITs but the interview process is quite different.
The main reason for this difference is the location of both institutes. In the case of IIT Kharagpur, recruiters prefer taking a skype interview than personally visiting the campus because of the isolated location of the institute. This plays against the favor of IIT Kharagpur as face-to-face interviews are way better than online interviews. Online interviews do not convey the information and expressions rightly and there is a communication gap.
Companies tend to judge IITs based on rankings which depend on their respective placements. For instance, the same profile and role are offered with a higher package at IIT Kharagpur but with a lower package at other IITs.
While IIT KGP CSE has a wide scope if you have achieved a top JEE Rank and have managed to get into IIT Bombay, go for it.
BIT Mesra is a Government Funded Technical Institute. To get admission into the CS/IT branch at BIT Mesra, you need to appear for the JEE Main. After that, CSAB/ JoSAA will declare your rank and the opening and closing ranks for various rounds. If you clear the cutoff for the CS/IT course, you need to appear for the counseling process. It is an online process in which you need to fill in your personal details, your first preferred college and branch, your second preferred college and branch, and so on.
Thus, these are the preliminary steps for your admission into the CS/IT branch at BIT Mesra. You need to prepare well for the JEE Mains to get your preferred branch at this institution. In 2023, the closing rank for round 6 published by JoSAA, for open category, B.Tech CSE is 15691 for Al quota and 25610 for HS quota at BIT Mesra.
IIT Roorkee is well known for its excellent CS placements with many reputed companies offering high packages. Since the institute does not reveal official data on branch-wise placements, my friends who were students in the CS branch shared some updates regarding the same.
Overall the placements of the CS branch at IIT Roorkee are superior to all the other branches making it one of the most coveted branches of the Institute.
You should choose Acharya Institute of Technology ISE. It is the best engineering college in Bangalore. It offers good academics and extra-curricular. The ISE department has a brilliant faculty base. For ISE, Acharya Institute of Technology placements are pretty good. Students receive an average CTC of around INR 11 LPA - 12 LPA. Many core companies visit the campus placements. ISE students usually get recruited as coders, analysts, testers, data scientists, etc.

Based on the JEE Main Rank vs Marks, a general category student needs to score between 130-170 to get into IIIT Bangalore CS program.
SRM Easwari Engineering College is better for CSE. The placements are great. Around 80-90% of students get placed from the branch each year. The average CTC received by the students is around INR 4.04 LPA. Students of CSE get recruited in software development, data science, and other core areas. Zoho, TCS, Amazon, etc. are among the major recruiters to take part in the placement drive.
My JEE Mains rank was good enough to get me a seat at SVNIT for B.Tech CSE. I finally decided to join ICT at DAIICT because-
I would recommend you opt for ICT at DAIICT Gandhinagar.
First, I would like you to address your branch preference. Choosing a branch should be the top most priority. CSE and ECE are quite different from one another. Although IITs/IIITs/NITs do offer a branch change option, it is quite difficult to get it. So I would suggest you make up your mind on which branch truly interests you.
Now coming to the colleges. Choose IIIT Jabalpur for a CSE branch. This is because IIITs offer good placements, curriculum and culture in this branch. Even IIIT Kancheepuram is a good option for CSE. But the distance from home and food form an integral part of this decision-making. Assuming you aren’t from South India, the lifestyle and eating habits might be difficult to adapt to. As far as NIT Hamirpur and NIT Jalandhar are concerned, choose them if you are planning for an ECE degree. They are good colleges as well.
First prioritize your branch and then choose your college among these four. I won’t suggest you go by college rankings. Basically, choose your branch first and then decide the best college for yourself.
