How good are XIMB Hostel rooms and do you have attached bathrooms? Also, can you post some pictures of your rooms?

When it comes to the quality of the rooms, it can be said that they are generally good. However, there is a notable difference between the single rooms and the multiple occupancy rooms in terms of the presence of attached washrooms. Single rooms do not have attached washrooms, which can be an inconvenience for those staying in them. On the other hand, the majority of multiple occupancy rooms have attached washrooms, providing more privacy and convenience for those staying in them.

It's worth noting that the lack of attached washrooms in single rooms may be a deterrent for some, but it's important to consider that this is a common feature in many types of accommodation. However, it is also worth noting that the presence of attached washrooms in multiple occupancy rooms can be a major selling point, making them a more attractive option for those looking for a more private and convenient living experience.

It is important to keep in mind that when choosing accommodation, it is always a good idea to weigh the pros and cons of different options and to consider one's personal preferences and needs. For example, if privacy and convenience are important factors, multiple occupancy rooms with attached washrooms may be a better option. However, if budget is a major concern, single rooms without attached washrooms may be a more affordable option.

How are the interviews at XIMB?

MM
Malik Kumar Meena Posted On : March 13th, 2023
PGDRM from Institute of Rural Management, Anand (Graduated 2016)

The following answer is based on the interview experience of my friend who had applied for MBA-HRM and was fortunate enough to get a call from XIMB. Her WAT topic was ‘Should migration be allowed in services?’

The questions asked were

  • Her general introduction
  • Name of school principal
  • When you joined your organization, what was the first program you attended?
  • What is the difference between the two? (Induction and Orientation)
  • Explain your domain and the work you do in your organization.
  • why do you want to do MBA in HR when you are already doing well in work (He answered with a real-life example
  • Who is Arundhati Bhattacharya?
  • Name any other female in such a high position. ( Rather than naming a famous personality he mentioned the name of a female entrepreneur who was his role model)
  • Mention some extracurricular achievements of yours.
  • Where else have you applied for an HR course? (He told them NMIMS)
  • If you get selected in NMIMS and XIMB then what will you prefer?
  • Why? ( He spoke highly of the course curriculum and institutes Management)

At this point, the interviewers were pretty impressed as almost all the questions were answered correctly and confidently by him. So the conclusion I drew from this experience was that the interviewers are on the lookout for candidates that have excellent thinking capabilities and excellent academics are not that necessary.

Can I get admission at XIMB with poor academics?

PT

A good percentile in the Common Admission Test (CAT) or Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) can greatly increase your chances of being admitted to the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB). These standardized tests are used as a measure of a candidate's aptitude and potential for success in a management program, and a high score can compensate for a lower academic record.

However, it is important to note that while a high CAT or XAT score can improve your chances of being admitted to XIMB, it does not guarantee admission. Other factors such as work experience, essays, and personal interviews are also considered in the admissions process. Additionally, it is also important to consider other factors like the program offerings, campus culture, and location when applying for an MBA program.

If you're unable to secure a spot at XIMB, there are other colleges with strong MBA programs that may be a good fit for you. These schools may also place more weight on other factors such as work experience, academics, and essays. It is important to research different colleges and their MBA programs, and carefully consider which one is the best fit for you.

It is also important to note that the MBA program is not only about the college's reputation, it's also about what you want to achieve in your career. So, it is important to think about your career goals before finalizing any college.

Which institute is better to pursue a full-time executive MBA, Xavier Bhubaneswar or KJ Somaiya?

NR
Neha Raje Posted On : March 16th, 2023
Studied at K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management

If you have the financial means to do so, it would be wise to choose Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar (XIMB) over KJ Somaiya Executive Program for a full-time executive MBA. While KJ Somaiya can offer assistance with placement opportunities, they do not provide on-campus placements, meaning you will need to find job opportunities on your own.

XIMB has a strong brand value and has completed 100% placement for its MBA program in 2022 with a 16% increase in average salary, which rose to Rs. 17.54 LPA from Rs. 15.15 LPA the previous year. While KJ Somaiya Institute of Management MBA placements 2023 had a 92% placement rate and attracted 132 companies, the highest and average packages offered stood at INR 22.50 LPA and INR 12.48 LPA, respectively. Sectors such as banking, IT, and financial services were the top recruiting sectors during the placements.

If you cannot afford the fees associated with XIMB and are willing to forego on-campus placement opportunities, then KJ Somaiya Executive PGDM could be a good option for you. However, keep in mind that the peer learning experience may be less than ideal, as there are students who were admitted through the Mat/ATMA test with lower scores through the DTE cap process directly without any group discussion or personal interview, particularly in the regular MMS program.

Ultimately, the decision of which program to choose should depend on your individual goals, circumstances, and financial situation. Do your research, consider your options carefully, and seek advice from mentors or professionals in your desired field before making a decision.

Are there any management seats in XIMB Bhubaneswar?

AP
Ansuman Panda Posted On : April 20th, 2021
MBA - HRM Human Resource Management, Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (2019)

No, there is no such management quota to get admission at XIMB Bhubaneswar. This is a very standard and highly reputed institution and any kind of donation will hamper the reputation of the institution.

The placement report of this college contains all the details of students going for campus placements. These details are percentile of the students and academic performances as well. Any kind of manipulation of data will have an impact on the campus placement of the college.

For getting admission at XIMB Bhubaneswar you need to appear for CAT, XAT, GMAT or X-GMT examinations. After qualifying in these examinations you will have to fill the online application form at the college website. On the basis of cutoffs the college shortlists some students for the Group discussion and personal interview rounds.

The final selection of the student will be based upon the performance at the GD PI rounds, management entrance exams scores and your overall academic performances at the school and colleges.

How are XLRI, XIMB, and XIME related? Does XLRI plays any role with XIMB or XIME in placements?

S
Sagardeep Posted On : February 13th, 2023
PGDBM in Marketing & Operations Management, Xavier School of Management (Graduated 2016)

The Xavier Institute of Management (XLRI), Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (XIME), and Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) are all well-respected colleges that share a common heritage. All three were established by the same Jesuit society and have a strong connection to the Xavier or Loyola name. Another commonality between these colleges is that they all use the XAT exam as a selection criterion for their MBA programs.

Additionally, it is not uncommon for faculty members to move between XLRI, XIME, and XIMB. Despite these similarities, it is important to note that each of these colleges has its own distinct functioning and separate placement processes. It's important to research each of these colleges independently to understand the unique opportunities and resources each of these colleges offers.

Which college is better, IMT Ghaziabad or XIMB (BM)?

AM
Aditya Malhotra Posted On : April 12th, 2021
MBA from Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, Graduated 2019

My senior from school was a student of IMT Ghaziabad and this is what she said when I asked her the same question.

In the field of management education, XIMB (BM) and IMT Ghaziabad are somewhat competitors. Both institutes boast of an excellent environment for learning, both are renowned, both have enviable faculty and placement records. So, if you want to join either college, you can almost guarantee yourself a bright future.

However, if you want to pursue MBA or PGDM in Marketing, then IMT Ghaziabad will be superior to XIBM (BM). Conferences and seminars are conducted by the institute for providing the best education with a practical approach. IMT Ghaziabad was way ahead as per the latest placement reports. In the pre-campus placements, over 150 leading companies took part in offering lucrative packages to the candidates. Some of them even got employment opportunities overseas. 58.22 LPA was the higher package.

So, if you are planning on taking a Marketing specialization, you can’t go wrong with IMT Ghaziabad.
