While choosing between MICA, IRMA, and XIMB, it's important to keep in mind that these institutions are very different from each other. They have different missions, visions, and outcomes. While XIMB is a general management institute, MICA and IRMA are focused on their respective domains.
If you're someone who is primarily driven by CTC and ROI, then it's important to think twice before opting for these niche programs based on general parameters. You might end up in something that you might not enjoy.
IRMA is the pioneer of rural management, with the aim of bringing about a change in the rural sector of the country through professional management. One of the unique features of IRMA is their three internship segments, which provide a different perspective on rural realities and society through a different lens.
By choosing IRMA, you can expect to have a rewarding career afterwards. However, keep in mind that the program is geared towards those who have a genuine interest in rural management and development. It's important to do your research and self-reflection to see if this program is the right fit for you.
All the institutes you mentioned are quite different from each other and have no similar goals, visions, or outcomes. XIMB is a General Management institute while MICA and IRMA focus solely on a specific domain.
The most common evaluating criteria of aspirants for a B School are its ROI and Placements. Choosing a specific niche program might limit your opportunities and choosing it mainly because of its general parameters like ROI and Parameters might prove wrong in the long run.

First of all, no college or university can guarantee your placements. There is a placement cell in the college that takes care of placements, but Global MBA students cannot get decent placements by depending on the placement team.
Any college can only provide you with a degree and tag. To get a decent job you have to search on your own. Investing so much in Global MBA is not a good idea. Also, ROI is an important factor, which is why it is suggested that you do not invest in it.

When preparing for an interview at XIMB, it is important to focus on a few key things to help you perform your best. Firstly, it is important to thoroughly revise your undergraduate subjects as this can make up a significant portion of the interview. Ensure that you have a good grasp of the technical aspects of your course and can discuss it confidently.
In addition, it is important to have a good understanding of general knowledge, including current affairs. You don't need to know everything, but having a basic understanding of what is happening in the world can be useful. Furthermore, having an opinion about current events can be even more important than your knowledge of them.
Some XIMB interviews may also include philosophical questions, so it is helpful to have a philosophical bent of mind and be able to think critically about abstract concepts. This can help you to demonstrate your ability to think deeply and creatively.
During the interview, it is important to present yourself confidently, even if you don't know the answer to a question. Be positive, as this can help you to build a good rapport with the interviewer. Remember that it's not just about what you know, but also how you present yourself and how well you can convince the interviewer of your suitability for the program.
In general, when preparing for any business school interview, it's important to have a good understanding of your domain knowledge and to keep up-to-date with daily news, particularly as it relates to business. Be prepared to discuss your work projects and know yourself well, as this will help you to answer questions confidently and authentically.
You might want to consider XIMB for your MBA studies because they have a stronger brand presence and a larger alumni network compared to IIMN. While IIMN is a newer institute and has seen rapid growth in recent years, it is still considered a tier 2 college in the business school market, whereas tier 1 status is reserved for the top 15 colleges. While the quality of students at both XIMB and IIMN may be similar, with a slight difference in percentile scores, both colleges have a lower representation of students from top undergraduate institutions such as IITs, NITs, and DU.
XIMB has also established strong international relations with schools such as KEDGE and WARSAW Economics, which can be a valuable resource for students. While the return on investment for an MBA from XIMB may be lower compared to other schools, it is important to remember that an MBA is an investment in your future career. Additionally, XIMB has a strong faculty with a pool of experienced professors and also has to visit faculty from XLRI, which is part of the same Jesuit trust. Overall, it is important to choose wisely and consider all factors when deciding on an MBA program.
One of my seniors used to be a student of SCMHRD and he gave an analytical comparison between the two institutions.
|
Name of the institute |
Fees |
Average Placements |
Size of the batch |
|
SCMHRD |
15,45,000 INR |
Marketing: 14.70 LPA HR: 15.3 LPA |

XIMB |
18,70,000 INR |
13-18 LPA |

In terms of location, SCMHRD is one step ahead of XIMB because the former is closer to Mumbai, the financial capital of India.
In spite of both institutes having an equally strong alumni network but as HR is the strong point of SCMHRD, it edges out XIMB in this regard as well. Marketing is also very strong in SCMHRD.
So, my senior recommended SCMHRD. Consulting is the forte of XIMB. However, both colleges are unique in their own ways.
