Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology NIET How good is this college for CS IT? Should one take admission in it?

C
CalmCoyote Posted On : February 16th, 2026

Hey there! I'm in my fourth year of CSE at NIET, so I can share my thoughts. I'd say NIET is a decent college for CS and IT. Like most colleges, some teachers are really good, while others might not meet your expectations. But honestly, don't just focus on the academics when judging a college.

NIET is putting in a lot of effort to help students get placed by offering extra classes that teach skills beyond the usual curriculum. They've recently teamed up with Pyramid Finishing School, which is all about getting students ready for jobs. They hold sessions on things like resume writing, body language, grooming, and group discussions. You get to practice speaking in front of everyone, which is pretty cool. From what I've seen, not many other colleges in Greater Noida are offering such extra classes, especially on weekends.

In my opinion, NIET is a solid choice for CS and IT in Greater Noida. And just a side note, the student crowd here isn't too bad either!

Should I join IIM Kashipur??

J
JadeJackal Posted On : February 16th, 2026

Deciding on whether to join IIM Kashipur can be quite a puzzle for MBA hopefuls. It's normal to feel uncertain because doing an MBA is a big deal that requires a lot of time, effort, and money. So, when you're choosing a B-school, you're really thinking about what you'll get back from all these investments.

Whether a business school is a good choice can vary a lot from person to person. Someone with very high goals might only be interested in the top schools like IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, or Calcutta. Other places, like IIM Raipur, might have a few downsides. But if you're practical and have worked hard for a decent score in CAT, you might think about other top schools and make a smart choice based on your options.

IIM Raipur, now in its tenth year, has been growing fast, and here's why it's a good choice:

1. Placements:
At IIM Raipur, there's a strong focus on creating a corporate vibe on campus with real-world learning experiences. They have guest talks from industry leaders and events like leadership and HR summits. These efforts have caught the attention of companies, leading to more of them showing up for placements. The average salary has been on the rise, and there are diverse job roles in areas like analytics and wealth management. You can check the official placement reports for more details.

2. IIM Brand:
The IIM name is like a powerful badge that shows you meet high standards. It's a mark of honor that you carry with pride throughout your life, boosting your confidence to tackle big challenges in your career.

3. Infrastructure:
Since 2018, IIM Raipur has been on a new campus with modern facilities. The academic spaces are cutting-edge, and the hostels offer single rooms with attached bathrooms. There's also a sports center with a pool, squash, and badminton courts. The infrastructure keeps getting better, and the management has big plans for the future.

4. Fees:
Despite its impressive facilities, IIM Raipur is a non-profit government institution with fees that are more affordable compared to many private schools.

5. Course Pedagogy:
Thanks to the IIM Bill, IIMs can create their own curriculums. IIM Raipur offers flexibility, allowing students to craft industry-relevant courses and even specialize in more than one area, opening up more career paths.

6. Life at IIM Raipur:
Beyond academics, there are plenty of ways to get involved, like case study competitions and student clubs. These activities help build leadership and interpersonal skills while creating lasting memories.

Of course, like any college, there are a few downsides. The food might not match up to home-cooked meals, but it's better than typical engineering hostel food. Raipur might not be a top-tier city for luxury, but it has decent hangout spots and is well-connected by air, which helps with corporate networking. The school is making significant progress, as seen in its rising B-school rankings. Looking back, I'm glad I chose IIM Raipur over others. If you have questions about joining, feel free to reach out. Best of luck!

What is the cutoff for an MBA from the Department of Financial Studies DU? I have 2 years of work experience

B
BinaryBeacon Posted On : February 16th, 2026

The Department of Financial Studies at the University of Delhi offers an MBA program in Financial Management, and they require the CAT exam for admissions. Generally, the cutoff score for applicants ranges between 94 to 95 percentile, depending on who applies each year. They also consider your 10th and 12th-grade marks, especially in Math, but this doesn't weigh heavily. The exact details are usually shared in their admission notice.

While work experience isn't directly factored into the application score, it can definitely give you an edge during interviews. To be on the safer side, aiming for above a 95 percentile is advisable.

What is the selection process for NIBMs postgraduate programs?

R
RubyRabbit Posted On : February 16th, 2026

NIBM Pune is a great place that helps train executives to work well in diverse, multicultural environments. They use a mix of theory and hands-on learning, which helps students become really good at solving problems. If you're in the final year of your bachelor's degree or have finished it and are waiting for your results, you can apply too.

Here's how the selection process for NIBM's postgraduate program works:

First, your scores in the initial screening will determine if you move forward. Then, there's a Personal Interview or Oral Communication Test where you'll discuss a given topic. Your past academic performance, involvement in extracurricular activities, and any work experience are also considered.

The Oral Communication Test and Personal Interview are done by a panel. They'll also evaluate your extracurricular activities and work experience. Your SSC and HSC marks are used to assess your academic performance.

The weightage for selection is divided as follows:

  • Scores from CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT/GRE make up 35%
  • Academic performance counts for 25%
  • The Oral Communication Test is 10%
  • The Personal Interview is 25%
  • Extracurriculars, sports, and work experience contribute 5%

Which colleges are best in Hyderabad for engineering especially for girls? Im a non local my rank is 33k and basically I dont want management seat

S
ShadowSoldier Posted On : February 16th, 2026

Honestly, with a rank of 33k, it's tough to secure a seat in the merit quota. You might need to consider the management quota instead. Now, regarding engineering colleges in Hyderabad for women, here are some good options:

  • Sridevi Women's Engineering College
  • BVRIT Engineering College for Women, which is considered one of the best in Hyderabad
  • G. Narayanamma College for Engineering and Technology, another top choice
  • Vasavi College of Engineering, ranked second

Hope this helps!

I got selected in IIM Kozhikode but I want to try for a better IIM next year. Will this affect my chances?

N
NebulaNoble Posted On : February 15th, 2026

Honestly, getting selected in IIM Kozhikode is a great achievement, but if you feel like aiming for a better IIM next year, it might affect your chances a bit. The Executive Post Graduate Programme is quite rigorous, and with exams every three months, it can be really tough to juggle preparation for a new IIM while managing this course.

Just keep in mind that each IIM has its own selection criteria, and having IIM Kozhikode on your CV could be a plus, but they’ll also look at your CAT score and overall performance next year. So, focus on that and see how it goes!

What are good and bad things about doing engineering in jntuh Hyderabad? Is it worth of doing undergraduation in JNTUH??

O
OblivionOasis Posted On : February 15th, 2026

Studying engineering at JNTUH in Hyderabad has its ups and downs. The college offers a range of courses like BTech, a 5-year Integrated Dual Degree program, and IIDP.

Pros:

  • For students in CSE or ECE, placement opportunities are abundant, with nearly everyone getting placed.
  • Salaries range from 6 to 14 lakhs, depending on skills.
  • However, for branches like Mechanical, Civil, or EEE, placements are fewer, with about 40% securing jobs.
  • Non-circuit branches have fewer placements compared to circuit ones.
  • JNTUH is one of the top colleges in Telangana, aside from BITS and IIT Hyderabad.
  • The curriculum is well-structured, with schedules and exams planned in advance.
  • Some professors are very skilled, while others are average.
  • First-year syllabuses are completed on time, and some teachers offer extra sessions.
  • Students are encouraged to learn independently through resources like NPTEL and YouTube.
  • The first-year hostel has strict anti-ragging rules.
  • There's also an international hostel for students from countries like Nepal and Africa, offering 2 BHK flats shared among 2-3 students for ?6000 monthly, excluding food.
  • The campus has two libraries, including a digital one with fast internet and access to paid journals.
  • A new sports complex offers facilities like a gym and courts for various sports, with cricket tournaments held between branches.
  • Financial help from TEQUIP is available for research and projects, and students can attend free courses at IIT for 1-2 weeks.
  • Fees are quite affordable at ?10,000 for BTech and ?35,000 for IDP, with scholarships for economically weaker and meritorious students.
  • There is no dress code, allowing students to wear casuals and enjoy a lot of freedom.

Cons:

  • Internship opportunities are mostly for CSE and IT students.
  • The syllabus doesn't always match industry needs.
  • There's no strong alumni network, and convocation is only for department toppers.
  • Career guidance is lacking, and there's no bus service for day scholars.
  • A minimum of 75% attendance is required.
  • The college could benefit from more advanced labs, better playgrounds, and more field trips and industrial visits for practical learning.
  • Additional facilities like a swimming pool and gym inside the sports complex would be beneficial.

How can I get into SSN College of Engineering? What is the admission process? Also what are your thoughts on SNU?

G
GoldenGnosis Posted On : February 15th, 2026

If you're from outside Tamil Nadu, you'll need to take a management test and aim to score above 90 out of 100. After that, there's a general interview. They typically focus on your extracurricular activities, sports involvement, and how diverse your background is.

For your school marks, it's good to have at least 95% in PCM if you're in State or CBSE boards and 90% if you're in ICSE. As for SNU, it's managed by the same team and located on the same campus, so you can expect a solid academic atmosphere.
